MOD EDIT:
As in all interaction between members, do NOT personally attack them. Example: You are such a/so/a/ _______ . Anything you put there that is not positive IS NOT ALLOWED. Generally. Use that as a reference if you don't know what is acceptable. Again, key focus here is that we should be keeping this non-personal while going back and forth, and based on personal experience. No hearsay or possibilities. Just a reminder to everybody http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-all-read.html Last edited by nightforceoutback11; 10-12-2010 at 03:13 PM.. |

Watch out for eBay user "super.seller.7581." I bought an item that was listed as new and sealed only to find out that the retail box had the tape cut on one side.
Had to escalate to eBay customer service since the email communications were going in circles and the seller did not propose an acceptable solution. Incidentally, as of November 27, 2010, this seller still has zero feedback but in one of the emails to me s/he admitted to using a bunch of accounts with eBay. I've been with eBay since 1998 and have never needed to open such a case. I'm very curious to see what eBay decides.

Bought a from short Blaster mask and figures lot from Rob Vader Collectibles.
To begin with seller did not respond to roughly 6 messages asking about the condition of the item while it was active (wanted to make sure the Blaster mask hadn't been cut). Seller marked item as sent after payment was made and so I contacted them about the tracking number, as the item was being sent by Priority Mail International at $18. They told me the item hadn't even been sent yet and that the list had stipulated a 3 day shipping timeframe after payment was receivied. I then asked them again about the condition of the mask where they claimed that it wasn't their responsibility to know what they were talking about and asked why I bought it if I wasn't sure. The item arrived and while it was fine, the postage costs were not. The seller had actually sent the item via 1st Class mail international for a cost of, get this, $3.12- pocketting the $14.88 difference for himself. When I raised it with the seller (even offering to factor in a few bucks for the cost of the padded enveolope and ziplock bags he'd used); to begin with it took an international phone call to actually get a response, and when I did, it was to tell me I was lucky to get the item for 50% off and that there was no shipping to Australia for $3.12. I messaged back that the shipping which was stated both on the package and on the USPS website for shipping a parcel 3 oz or less and that the cost of the item was irrelevant as he had placed the item on sale knowing full well that that involved losses on his part. Seller then claimed that sale price was a moral issue. I called him out on the fact that the moral issue was that he'd charged me for one form of shipping, sent by a cheaper method and pocketed the difference for himself. At the same time, I spelled out what would happen depending on which approach he used. I even gave him the opportunity to still get positive feedback by doing the right thing. His response though was to tell me how he'd been scammed so many times by buyers and to play the victim. My patience at that point wore thin. I told him he had until the 8th to decide what he was going to do and that if he refused to do the right thing, I was reporting him to eBay, leaving neg feedback and spreading the word around forums. I got no response. I messaged him again early this morning reminding him that he had 20 hours left to do the right thing until the deadline. At that point I got a response back telling me to not contact him again or he would regard it as harassment. He might have some nice things, but with how fraudulently he has behaved and how much of a headache he's proven to be to deal with, I'd advise each and every one of you to avoid him like the plague! |

***SELLERS BEWARE***
Block robvandam97 from your auctions ASAP! Check this schnit out: Guy bids on my custom carded baroness: 1984 G.I.JOE COBRA BARONESS COMPLETE SEALED CUSTOM CARD - eBay (item 330504098053 end time Dec-10-10 11:40:09 PST) He first bid on 12/09 @ 5:36 PM PST. Bid starts going up and he finally gets outbid when the item hit $25. Well, today, right as the auction was about to end, he sniped the figure for $30. He just sent me an e-mail...and get this, it's not HIM who bid on it, but his FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER! LMAO!!!! I tell you what, kids are becoming more and more smart nowadays. Who knew a 5 year old would be sniping auctions, let alone be left alone at a computer with eBay running. Block this waste...and hey Bud, if you're a member of this board, way to be a classy guy. |

I won these two Resident Evil figures on Ebay from animeclass101.
Resident Evil 3 Figure Jill Valentine Moby Dick RARE!- I won for $5.50 and S&H $10.50 Resident Evil Figure Jill Valentine Moby Dick S.T.A.R.S- I won for $2.25 and S&H $10.50 I asked this seller if they combine shipping and they said yes. It was $21 for S&H and today I got a new invoice for $18 S&H. A $3 discount. People like these, make Ebay a bad place to shop and I will not buy anything else for combined shipping. That is where they make all the extra money. Should I contact the seller and Ebay about this or bite the bullet. I am leaving a negative or neutral after I get the toys. It was a good thing that I won only two from him, I was bidding on five auctions, it would have been almost $60 for shipping.

I just sent this e-mail to the seller:
I asked you before I placed any bids on your auctions about combined shipping and you said yes. $18 for S&H for two auctions is not right and I am going to contact Ebay. It should only be for the weight of the box or just the $10.50

honestly, i think you are going to have to bite the bullet on this one. the seller didn't misrepresent anything. he did discount the shipping, even though i know it wasn't much, it was still a discount from the listed shipping. i know that seems a lot for the shipping, but i've found when buying from ebay people, combined shipping usually isn't a huge discount from the original shipping price. i'm not even sure that negative or neutral feedback would be very fair at this point, because once again, he didn't misrepresent anything, he just charges a lot for shipping and handling.
this is just my opinion though.

one thing to consider is that the post office has changed it's rules about "oversized" packaging
It used to be if the length and girth equaled 108" or so then it was oversized and was charged more for shipping BUT now it's if any one side is longer than 12" it's considered oversized Maybe that's the reason there isn't more of a discount for the combined shipping? I don't know how big the figures are with packaging and packing materials |
