I have had quite a few buyers fall through and never complete the transaction. I totally agree with everyone else here that Ebay does not empower us at all to provide negative feedback to auction winners who do not pay. I always put in my auctions that payment is due within three days or I reserve the right to cancel the transaction - that is my only defense.
Not sure if three days is enough time but I honestly just want the stuff gone as soon as possible as I do not have the space to just have unpaid auctions to pile up. I am pretty sure Ebay used to allow negative feedback way back in the day but cannot recall for sure. |

They did, but got rid of it because dirt-bags who ran shoddy auctions would use it as retaliation if they got negative feedback for broken items, no items sent, etc.
Had it happen to me once. Guy never sent an item I purchased after a month and several unanswered messages to him. So I left negative feedback of no item/poor communication. Next day I get negative feedback from him "Buyer is stupid impatient bitch; get off EBay!!!!". Needless to say I reported him to EBay and his account (at least that one) went away. But as TrueJoeFan said, EBay went too far and now you can't even warn people of bad buyers. Very messed up. Last edited by Necryan; 03-14-2018 at 06:39 PM.. |

That's why instant positive feedback should be left for buyers who pay with PayPal. Kills retaliatory feedback.
As a seller, if someone pays, regardless of final outcome, they should get a positive "buyer paid" feedback.

Having bad luck on eBay recently. Anyone know gustavcarvalhz? He made an offer on a Club WORMS from me on Friday March 9th. I accepted the offer and so on Saturday I boxed him up and it accidentally got mixed in with other things I had to ship out. So yes, dummy me!!!, I sent him the Club WORMS before he paid, by accident! I informed him of what happened and he said he'll pay me Monday...well, today is Wednesday. No response from the messages and he put his number on his eBay account info and I've sent him a text...NOTHING! So I totally fucked up that one.

Had a buyer bid on an item and within an hour of winning he sends me a message asking me to cancel. I said nope, you have to pay and if you don't, I will just open a case and you can take the non paying bidder hit. That's my only recourse. Of course, I then looked him up on FB and low and behold, he's a prominent member in a group. I didn't put him on blast and just tucked that away in my pocket. I let the case run it's course and he got dinged.
