It's her bad on the 2 invoices. She either needs to eat the shipping or convince you to surrender the item. However, as a buyer, i'm sure you did expect some shipping costs on these items. I would offer her a few bucks to ship the items.

You're not new this, perhaps they are. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt and help them out? Karma man, it's all about karma.

Did the auction say free shipping?
Did you obtain a quote on shipping BEFORE bidding? If not then it seems you are obligated to pay. |

whatever the agreed upon shipping amount when you won the auction seems like you should be responsible to pay. it must have been listed when you bid?
if you don't like the shipping cost don't bid.

It wouldn't. The mistakes happened behind the scenes. Where she sent two invoices with a zero shipping quote and then a message asking for $13.25 more after I paid. Here's how I'm looking at it: if a teacher marks the same question wrong on one student's paper and right on another's, the teacher doesn't take the point away from the second, but gives it to the first. The mistake was the teacher's, so they are responsible for it. It's the same boat with this seller. Anyway, she finally agreed to refund my money.

If she was a new seller I would agree with the karma angle. This seller knows what she's doing after 4 years. You were in the right and I'm glad you got your money back. I hope you find those items again soon!!

So is it a pain for a seller to "combine shipping costs' after a sale?

Well, no one really won out of this situation, did they?
She didn't end up selling the items. You didn't end up buying them, which is what you originally wanted, right? Did you really think it would turn out otherwise if you didn't want to pay for shipping? Sellers have to pay some pretty stupid fees for Ebay - mistake or not, I don't think many here would agree that she should eat the cost of shipping for forgetting to put it on the invoice. Now, if she WAS overcharging you for shipping, that's one thing - but we don't really know that was the case. You could have just paid, and when it arrived, looked at the labels on the box. If it was under the 13 dollars or so, then you could have filed with Paypal and threatened to leave negative feedback. You probably would have gotten the difference back and gotten your toys too. She would have been pissed, obviously, but if she was trying to scam you she would have deserved it. Quote:
Now, I'm not entirely proud of what I did and that's the ONLY time I've ever scammed anyone - but I have gotten scammed more than once myself and I was seething with anger at the time at having it happen again. If there's two things I can't stand, it's rudeness and being lied to, and this guy did both, so I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He deserved what he got. Quote:
