You did the right thing. I go through that all the time, with seller's describing something as super-mint, never touched ....then when you get something ....it's not what you were told or it's not the one from the picture.
They do that to get that extra X amount of dollars, then claim shipping damage. Happened the other day i got a vintage JOE in "C10" shape, only to have a cracked elbow. When asked, the seller claimed "it happened during transit", when the box was perfectly fine AND it was wrapped INSIDE a protective case. Like I am an idiot. I, for one, am getting super-tired of clown-@$$ seller's trying to get that extra few big dollars by falsely describing their wares. |

What bugs me is that he said that he had another PDD that was nicer and he could send it out as a replacement. Obviously, if he had it why not send it out in the first place...
Check out the first picture in his auction and then the actual figure that I received. Also here is the description on his auction page: AUCTION IS FOR A VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND NOW GI JOE EXCLUSIVE GOLD HEAD Pimp Daddy Destro SDCC 25th. FIGURE IS MINT ON A NICE NM CARD ENCASED IN A STAR CASE. THESE ARE SUPER TOUGH TO OBTAIN AND CNOTINUE TO GO UP IN PRICE AND WILL DO SO WITH THE CONTINUE OF THE SUPER HOT 25TH ANNIVERSARY GI JOE LINE AND WITH THE NOW IN PRODUCTION GI JOE MOVIE. PLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS, US SHIPPING ONLY WILL BE $10.00 Quote:

you did the right thing to protect yourself. To get the refund you probably had to send the figure back to him first...who is to say he actually is going to refund you...he can close the dispute himself by refunding your money after he receives the item. I am well-versed in the ebay thing and this is the right thing to do. F$$$ him he should have decscribed the item better...but (I don't know if you did) you also have to ask questions before auction close.

I would recomend that anyone who has a question for ebay or paypal related stuff send emails to the following addresses.
[email protected](writer of the ebay bible)and [email protected] (I'm not totaly sure if this one is correct) Ebay and Paypal also have podcast were they talk about stuff. I really like the ask griff show. Check out www.wsradio.com. And remember Joes...knowing is half the battle!

I had one of these disputes go my way, but I'm not sure if it was because the seller never responded. Seller claimed a loose, complete figure, and it came missing half its accessories (it was a Transformer). I asked for $5 back instead of a total refund, since I didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back, and figured I could pick up the parts somewhere.
