And here I thought I'd walked away from a goldmine when I left that Wave 7 Snake Eyes on the pegs on Monday. Boy do I feel foolish.

As someone who enjoys collecting multiples of army builder figures, all I can say is no. I'm going to buy as much of what I want when it's available. |

But collectors are buying them from the people who sell them on the secondary market. One way or the other, a collector will get them.
As someone who enjoys collecting multiples of army builder figures, all I can say is no. I'm going to buy as much of what I want when it's available. These are your rights of course. And we shall never hear a complaint from you because you cannot find a figure. I guess I try to use a little toy Karma in my collecting life. It has worked well so far. My hope is to see a few years down the road, some of the resellers choking on Flints and army builders the same way they had to choke on the first POTF2 Lando. Leias and Darth Maul. It's a vicious circle. Collectors do buy from resellers because they cannot find them in stores. They cannot find them in stores because resellers (or yes, army builders) have bought them all. Further whetting the appetite for continuing. It really never ends. |

But I did find one. And then Kenner flooded the market. The Karma part is more with my Micronaut/Microman collecting and that has more to do with have good relationships with other members in that community. I have found all of the current Joes except for the current wave. And then again, it has only been out a couple of days. I don't really stress out about getting or not getting figures. I can live with or without them. What bothers me is the principle of reselling. To me it kind of seems like taking credit for something that you yourself did not do. |

On the other hand, a "scalper" takes time out of his day and uses his gas to acquire something, and some collectors are willing to pay for this. What we call that in our economy is providing a service. Since you can't be at the stores every morning before work (neither can I, not if I want to sleep as late as I like to sleep), then it seems like the service they provide could be right for you. |
