If anyone with Drome knowledge could help out... I was wondering if anyone could tell me how high they'd go with this lot. I'm wanting to build a Drome out of some parts lots, but I'm constantly getting out-bid.

no telling how high it will go. anywhere between $30 to $60.The bad thin about ebay is if you put in a high maximum bid you run the risk of shills driving up the price on you.Your best bet is to keep a close watch on it and try to win it in the last few seconds.
You will have to snipe the snipers.I have a mostly complete Tdrome I'll sell you pm me for details |

Personally, I wouldn't go more than $50. I've learned that "building" a vehicle or playset is often more expensive than buying one 95% complete and picking up a few lone pieces. I did it with my Night Raven and my Night Striker (although its really difficult to find a complete Night Striker!), but I was in too deep to get out when I realized I was over my self-imposed "limit".

Thanks for the advice Sparks. I think you're right, it seems the best policy is sitting an waiting until the last possible minute. When I have a little more disposable income (just bought a nice big tv ) I will hit you up to see if you still have that Drome.
And thanks for the insight Ruckus. Maybe you're right. I always think buying things in pieces is the best way to save money, but I could see how the costs could get out of control. Last edited by FireBat; 04-25-2010 at 08:49 AM.. |

Hmmm... my advice would be to NOT buy this lot. Why? Because it is missing the two most important and difficult to find pieces - the large turret bases (blue things that hold up the big guns). If you are patient, THOSE will show up, but it will also drive the price up too. Still, I would rather pay a lot for the parts I need, rather than buy a lot of stuff that is pretty easily available and then buy it again with the parts I really need.
Of course, the best bet is to buy a Terror drome complete - almost always cheaper in the end.

^^ agreed. This lot, in all reality, isn't worth over $35.
The photos are badly taken as to give the seller an advantage by piling many parts over parts, making you think you get more. If these were laid out in a symetrical catalogue shot, you'd see there isn't really a whole lot there, just a lot of common parts. I too am looking for a turrent base. They are hard to come by.

I think you were spot on with this, with a few hours to go it looks like it's approaching $50. Glad to have a resource like the tank for these kinds of questions.

I know I posted this original thread over a year ago, but I finally bought a frame for a Drome and it came in the mail yesterday. I was excited to say the least. I grabbed all the parts I've been collecting over the past two years and put it all together. It looks great. I've got a Terror Drome under construction.
There are a few parts I need to track down still. I've only got one good door with a clip, and I want to get a few more of the big blue rampart shields that go along the top. I'm leaving off the big cartoon-ish gun placements and opting for more realistic looking sentry guns. It's always a great feeling to be this close to one of the holy grail items, and the drome I have is good enough to start displaying. I will post pics soon, but does anyone know any good resources for finding parts for dromes other than ebay? If you guys have extra parts laying around, let me know! |
