Now it's over $3000.00 & the reserve still hasn't been met.
Can a mod change the title to $3000? |

My opinion? If you can get a MISB Defiant for $3000, you're getting a great deal. The Defiants are practically made of glass and the pieces are RIDICULOUSLY rare. I would say it's easily ten times harder to get your hands on a 'mint' defiant than a FLAGG or Terrordrome. Owning the defiant is like having a play set made of fantail deck railings, STUN flags, mast caps, FANG roll cages, Heavy Metal Mics, Whale Vertical Vanes and Night force accessories. It is an impressive sight, but (speaking of the gantry/crawler) it is more of a delicate sculpture than a toy. I put my Defiant together and I can tell you the wheels on the Gantry have never once touched the ground. I have it resting on a lift in order to keep the weight off them. The Gantry/Crawler is ridiculously breakable. Good luck finding a crank/gear set that isn't broken (even in an MISB item I'd imagine). At any rate, someday I hope to have the cash to pick up a MISB Defiant, and I will expect to pay a high amount for such a rare item.

Wow, $3000? I would love to get a Defiant but I won't pay that much for it whether its a good deal or not. As other have said, in times like these, that is a lot of money to drop. Its a lot easier paying for a bunch of $5 figures than dropping $3000 for a playset, albeit an awesome one. I did have a friend when I was a kid who had this and for some reason I wasn't really into it. But back then I wasn't really into playsets. When it came down to getting toys, I always chose to get a bunch of action figures than one big playset or vehicle. But now, I really like the Defiant. Maybe one day I will get one.

10 years from now we'll be talking about MISB Defiants for !0 grand or more, and that's not a joke. As we get older, a lot of us are getting better paying jobs, and have higher spending power. At the same time, specimens get more and more rare. I remember looking at MISB Defiant's for $300 in the 90's and thinking, man that's too expensive. Now that'd be a joke of a price.

People think they're freakin experts nowadays.
any shmoe can buy himself a price guide and try to sell items for full guide price. a lot of folks dont understand the logic of supply and demand. Thats how the comic boom of the early 90s almost killed the industry. Even if you take a MIB toy to a dealer, they'd still only offer around half for what its worth. Its the dorks who think they're gonna get rich on the stuff who are the problem. |

I'm buying a loose one right now for a little more than that ($400, thank goodness he's taking payments!). $3000 is nuts!

I just wanted to say you know the topic is serious when headman isn't busting your balls but in all seriousness that is some bs.
