Earlier this year, after getting out of GIJoe collecting, I had a half-assed notion of collecting Captain Power shit because it's an awesome concept, has a great backstory and contains some really cool toys (the vehicles in particular). Long story short, I discovered that it wasn't just GI Joe toys I lost interest in, but all toys. I'm just not a toy collector, but it was a helluva lot of nostalgic fun while it lasted. Anyway, my "dabbling" might just be your gain.
Also, shipping is pricey, but it's because I'm tired of undercharging for postage (stupid, thieving shipping calculator) so I overestimate and then refund any remainder. You'd be surprised how much it costs to ship a large-ish box from the West to back East. The two jets would fit in nicely as Joe and Cobra "advanced" jets or spacecraft: Mint Captain Power Powerjet XT-7 unapplied labels, box! - eBay (item 230377954965 end time Sep-21-09 18:46:28 PDT) MIB Captain Power 100% complete Phantom Striker! - eBay (item 230377956202 end time Sep-21-09 18:51:17 PDT) These sets, especially the TransField Communication Station and Base Stations make wonderful dio/custom base fodder. That communication station has a fold-out chair and a computer station and the base station is made up of modular computer stations: MIB Captain Power Power On & 2 TransField Base Stations - eBay (item 230377958088 end time Sep-21-09 18:59:21 PDT) I always thought the Interlocker would make an awesome Cobra "super laser" or something. The Dread Stalker is pretty cool as a novelty of a bygone toy age: MIB Captain Power Interlocker & Dread Stalker! - eBay (item 230377959492 end time Sep-21-09 19:03:28 PDT) And, finally, a complete set of sealed figures. Two of the rare-ish ones in there: Col. Stingray Johnson and Tritor, the swimming robot. Set of 14 Captain Power figs. Stingray Johnson, Tritor! - eBay (item 230377962400 end time Sep-21-09 19:16:05 PDT) Last edited by smoke bellew; 09-15-2009 at 12:14 AM.. |

Sure, I'll make an exception for Canada because you all have a good postal system and the box won't be traveling a great distance. But I still won't ship overseas (ie. Rest of the World) due to too many past problems.
And, yeah, Captain Power came out in 1987. It was based on an "apocalyptic-Terminator-esque-machines-take-over-but-humans-shall-prevail" concept. It featured a TV show the toys interacted with through some sort of light beam something or other. It was actually a pretty serious and dark program. Google it if you're really interested in finding out more. As for shipping being pricey; that's because I overestimate and then refund any remainder. I got tired of undercharging thanks to that shitty shipping calculator. |

All this Captain Power stuff and not a single tape to interact with? For shame! ;)
Tempting to re-live a little on my youth (that broke 10mins after I opened it).

I've got some rosier-than-reality memories of shooting those damn jets at the TV every Saturday morning for like a year straight. Sad thing is, I never once tried the new toys out with the show because, like I said, no interest. Guess I finally grew up. :( |
