Ok, I have been in love with GI Joe since 1982 when I got the premiere issue of Gi Joe comic #1 and my first straight arm snake eyes. Started re collecting them when the 25th aniversary ones came out.
Sadly due to some severe medical issues that have drained my savings I am going to have to sell of what I have collected. Now, Everything I have is open but in mint condition, since they went straight to display. My ? is this should I post here or does ebay do a better job of selling toys? I have a paypal account so it's not hard to get the payments, just didint know which place would sell better, and should I do buy now or and open starting bid with reserve? just courious since I need to sell these quick to start paying these outrageous bills. thank you for any answers in advance

That is a hard question to answer. I have made some good deals on both yet the also have there downfalls. My best advice is to try selling on here first and if there are no offers then try E-bay. My biggest problem with ebay is their seller fees.

With here you can at least not get the e bay fees but will not get top dollar for some of your stuff. On the other hand, if you have army builders you may have a better chance selling them here because if you start your auction too low it may go close to the starting bid on some items. It really comes down to what you have with figures and vehicles.
On here too you can ask if someone will send payment as a gift though so you don't get charged on pay pal. With e bay you get a double shaft. |

I strongly suggest researching completed listings on eBay. Your stuff is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. And you can set reserves on the high value stuff. Good luck and keep us posted!

Also when looking at completed listings, also check to see the feedback or selling history of the high priced ones in each search. You make more money on average if you sell worldwide as opposed to just the US, and people pay more as repeat customers to guys who consistently sell a lot of joes. So you yourself just starting out selling would have to build a customer following before you can expect the consistent high end numbers.
That and as said before, the paypal/ebay double dip blows. |

I agree with the majority here, try here first to avoid fees, but I would not give the stuff away either (Some people just don't want to pay going rates). Whatever is left, sell on ebay, but...you will do better selling each item individually rather than in a lot, also you will do better in a store with a buy it now, than at auction.
