GI Joe 1987 Defiant Space Shuttle Box Payload Hardtop - eBay (item 310161168288 end time Aug-17-09 18:02:28 PDT)
$50 shipping and the last time i looked the highest bid was $207. Is this box really worth that much?

It is to at least one person
If I were a completest, I may pay $50 for the box in that condition. Thank goodness I'm not a completest. |

I don't know much about the value of some of this stuff because I'm not a toy collector...I'm more of a toy purchaser. But I can tell you what it's not worth to me...whatever the opening bid was.

YOu see what it was is.... that they used "better" "more expensive" cardboard back in those days..... and the package art alone is worth 5x the winning bid easily.....

Wow, almost $300 Bucks for a box. Not something I would do, but If that person really need the box to complete a collection or something, and had the money to blow, I can understand spending the money.

Look at it this way, How much is Action Comics #1 valued at nowdays? And it's just some newsprint paper and a few staples
But yeah, this is a box, I'd pay $20-$30 depending on condition, just because it's a big, pretty box |

At first I was thinking nothing strange here, but then I realized he is only selling the box and not the whole toy. Egads! If it was AFA graded he would probably want $5000. LOL!
