Greetings Tankers. Figured I'd register/post here to preemptively pimp my pending auctions for a vintage Duke and a vintage Torpedo that I'll be putting up on Ebay soon. I'm awaiting delivery of two high quality acrylic cases and once I find some boxes that will fit the cases, I'll be putting up the auction links. I'll caveat that I've never sold on Ebay before, though I've been on the site for a number of years.
It is time to let these boys go. I'm not a collector, though I do still have my GI Joe comics from when I was a kid. Up until about six years ago, these two were stored in a wooden toy box in the garage of my parent's home on California's central coast from the time I put them in there when I was around 12 years old. These were birthday gifts from friends/relatives, but I already had these two Joes (pretty sure I mailed away for Duke...), so I decided to keep them in their packaging (I should have just put them in the box with my comics, but oh well). Needless to say, they're not in the greatest of shape, as they were stored loose in a freaking toy box, along with a bunch of other toys stuffed in there. Upon inspection though, the durability of the product packaging really does shine through here. They both are in surprisingly good shape considering the method of storage (Duke is arguably in better condition however). The upper bubble on both is a bit squished, and clearly the cardbacks have seen better days (pics speak for themselves), but both O-rings are intact and the bubbles are sealed all the way around, as I think the weather on the central California coast helped; never too warm, never too cold. Please advise if you have any questions, comments or auction tips that you would care to share. Thanks for reading, enjoy!
