so a seller is sending my stuff to the wrong address...
however the real problem is that the dude at UPS was a fucking dick to me. I was all "ok but the street name is wrong" and he was all "UPS will spend 5 days trying to get it to the right address making multiple attempt deliveries" (as if he didn't work for UPS... who the fuck uses their business name in the third-person). and so I was all "there is no street by that name in Chicago" and he was all "well we will attempt to deliver it to that address anyways" and i was all "so it's too late?" and he was all "you should have gotten right the first time and given the sender the proper address." and I was all "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. you don't get to just assume this was an error on my part. Pay pal sent them the correct address and they obviously copied it down wrong at the other end." and he was all "Sir, UPS will spend five days..." and I was all "yeah yeah yeah five days. itz my fault. blah blah blah." and I was all... "you can't change it in the system NOW?? since it just went out today... you guys don't have protocol to make everyone lives easier... both for the sender, the recipient, and UPS employees alike?" and he was all "no sir, UPS will spend five days trying to get it right" mind you he said all of this as if I was bothering HIM. and like he was on repeat.

Sounds beyond frustrating. So what are they going to do after the five failed tries, send it back so the original sender can relabel it, re send it and then UPS can drive it around some more? What a colossal waste of time and money, way to go UPS.

That is the irony of UPS, they just don't care.

They probably just don't want to change addresses because of fraud and the fact that if they deliver to other than the address provided intiatally it might make them legally obligated if the item did not reach the recipient and got ripped off or somethin.

I wonder what his home-life is like... "Hey dad! When's breakfast?" "I have five days to make you breakfast..."

That makes sense, with people trying to sue for the dumbest shit these days companies can't afford to take chances, still sucks though.

That's UPS covering their butts. Nothing wrong with that. How are they to know what's true and what's not? Once the package is entered into the system, it cannot be changed. What you can do is tell UPS to hold the package at their terminal so that you can come pick it up in person (make sure you have your tracking number). The only way an address can be changed is through UPS Delivery Intercept, which is something only companies w/ a UPS account can use. So, just tell them to hold the package at their facility, and go pick it up.
