A few weeks ago I noticed a multi listing for the sdcc danger at the docks set BIN $50 free shipping 10 available from seller "johnjones868". I buy&sell often on ebay, and it just didn't feel right. First off, they're fetching $70 all day long, why would someone list them for so low? instead of just instantly buying them out,and flipping them which would be very easy&profitable at that price I bought 1...well,lol. The feedbacks are coming in now,and looks like some people didn't just nibble like I did! They took it hook line and sinker!!
$700-$1600 in each individual!! That is crazy!! eBay Feedback Profile for johnjones868 Watch yourselves guys!! If it sounds too good to be true.... |

I'm sure no one lost any money with the eBay money back guarantee on top of Paypal's protection.

really strange concidering the seller had really flawless positive feedback untill this datd scam. wonder if someone hacked his account or if he planned on having these items from the con and failed to get them.

lol,it doesn't always work. Idk about now,but a few years ago I got screwed on some counterfeit band shirts. Since they drained their account, ebay&paypal couldn't recover the money. They got banned only to return under a new name. I had about 6 months of fun finding them, buying all their items under various accounts, and not paying. Leaving negative feedback instantly till they paid me to go away |

Whats up with the Hotwheels buyers. I don't see any treasure hunts in those pictures, except for maybe one might be one. All I see are a bunch of cars with the HW Showroom green label. That just makes it look like they got greedy.
And it does seem weird that you spend all that time building feedback with hundreds of people and then scam 7 people. And if it wasn't for the two hotwheels guys the scamming would only a couple of hundred. That seems pretty incompetent for all the time and effort that went in to the last 11 months of his history. |

Actually most people bought several sdcc datd sets thinking they where gonna get a deal! ...I bought one set, then they were sold out minutes later, lol. I got my money back today. I escalated the claim to paypal, and they almost instantly gave me my money back...never seen that before, lol. Maybe the seller got hacked into,or the account changed hands? that could explain the turnaround to shitty business? |

I bid on a set and it went to my max of $75. I won and paid right away. Shortly after that it sank in that there was no way one seller could have that many sets in their possession. Well after filing and escalating today, I got an almost instant refund from eBay.

Interesting, I was going to buy one from him when I first saw them and thought the same thing, how can one person have so many sets?
Luckily my local buddy over at Toystable.com had an extra one from going to sdcc.

I realized once I hit BIN. I thought $50 shipped seemed suspicious, but I've seen some odd things on ebay. Once I bought a sealed 30th vamp w/steel brigade delta for $14.99 with free shipping during the time they where fetching $70-$80! I was selling vamps without the driver for $50 shipped all day long too! I know it costs around $9 just to ship it,lol. I got it tho!! So,ya never truely know until it goes down like this did..
Another reason someone would do this would be to flood the market with a promise of less expensive sets to bring down the prices of sets people actually had, then swoop in,and buy those? |
