I can't help but stop and laugh when I come across an ebay sale item that is so unrealistic, that I actually do start to laugh out loud.
I'm hoping to start a thread that showcases the absurdity of such a thing. I feel that toy collector's who sell their items in the thousands are not TYPICALLY basing their prices in reality. I can understand someone selling around 600 - 800 figures and maybe asking for a lump sum of $3,000.00, but even that seems a little unlikely to happen. It seems like they are trying to fund "real-life" projects, like a house, or a car, or a vacation to the Bahamas, and arbitrarily attach a price tag to their "for sale items" to get said "real-life" purchase..... anyway... I digress.. Her is my contribution: Star Wars 3 3 4" Action Figure Entire Collection Females Complete 132 Lot | eBay This "for sale" listing is for 132 Star Wars figures... for $2,899.00. That's roughly $21.00 per figure. 98% have been played with. Sounds pretty reasonable? As an added bonus, the price includes shipping. That's a pretty sweet deal considering that the original price of $2,899.00 absorbs the cost of shipping! Disclamer: I know there are some very logical Hisstanker's who like to comment on these threads and state the obvious like: "well if the figure is worth x amount and really valued by the consumer than.. $XXXXX.00 dollars is up to them to spend, and not really absurd at all " Yes.... I realize there are some who would rationalize such a thing.. thank you for the unparalleled insight... but this is mainly a thread dedicated to the absurd... not the rationale/occasional. So Enjoy, and IF you find such things on Ebay as funny as I do... Please Please Please add your post to this thread with a commentary.... I'm certain it will be amusing.... |
