Gameboy Sealed The Real Ghostbusters 1993 VGA 85 - eBay (item 390029482834 end time Mar-08-09 17:00:40 PDT)
...seriously? Like what is the point of that? you paid someone to rate the wrapping on a video game that was never opened? They grade video games?? I'm speechless. VGA (video game "authority")??? |

I've seen those posted on ebay before and I've never seen the point in them. Then again most of the population doesn't see the point in us adults collecting toys either.
The best part about this particular post is that the ebay seller has 752 of these listed. The cheapest one is a SNES Superpad controller that is for $49.99 and the most expensive item is Bonk's Adventure for the NES which goes for $4,999.99. I really can't see many people purchasing these items, but who knows maybe there is a market for them. The seller obviously thinks so. If you were to add up all of the seller's items I'm sure they would surpass $100,000 easy, but like I said only if there are people willing to pay those prices for those items. To each their own.

Scoop, I agree. who would pay 5K for something that they can't even play or is just a box? but then again, a MISB USS FLAGG for $5,000 - $7,000 AFA, would be in the same idea.

you pay for the mint box. Do you know what inside? I would be great if anyone would educate us how do they grade this. For instance, do they just grade base on their judgement from the look of the box, or they also look inside the box for the content (can use x-ray machine) - any parts are missing.
Would be nice that someone can describe the process of grading? because I still don't buy the system much. Last edited by tuan_tran73; 02-08-2009 at 02:01 PM.. |

5,000$ for something you can't see when lots of things can be faked.. I am sure I could create a box for box and some 'wrapping' shrinkwrap.. and send it in to have it graded "sealed"
Phone book/Ps3 Christmas incident comes to mind... not that I would or anything but when you think about how EB games sells thier games by leaving them 'open' and then selling you the item out of a sleeeve I am wondering if the same could have been done back in the day for NES games... doubtful as I remeber TRU having thier little game room and NES games in a little booth... u took your ticket and picked up your game |

I talked to a few people who like to collect sealed video games.
Whatever floats your boat. I don't see any difference between that and those who collect mosc/misb joe items. |
