after they pay hundreds for this item, ship it off to AFA and have them send it back telling the buyer it is a reproduction.
Heads up to anyone else who might have seen this and was interesting in buying it. RARE GI Joe Destro Unpunched 20 Image Back G.I. Joe Cobra Weapons Supplier | eBay It clearly says underneath the file card in one of the last images "Reproduction Packaging". You know, I don't mind repros too much since they can become an affordable alternative to having a genuine MOC item. As a buyer you really have to educate yourself on what you are buying.

Wow, funny what people will try to get away with. The actual producer of that cardback, Beggars Canyon, no longer has items listed on eBay. Whether or not they were forced to pull their product by Hasbro legal is unknown.
Not too smart on the seller's part to note that one would get a high grade on the piece knowing it's a repro. There's no way he didn't read the "Reproduction Packaging" clear as day on the back. |

I sent him a question about it asking if it is an original piece. I'm curious to see what he says.

It sucks if Hasbro went after Beggars Canyon. I think it's a great service that they offered. They are very clear about their stuff being reproduction.

Seriously, man, I couldn't agree more. They were always very clear that the items they offered were repro. Their custom made their own bubbles so that they would adhere properly and keep all the figure's kibble in place. To see "0" in their inventory is disheartening. That said though, it is Hasbro's intellectual property so I can understand it getting pulled (if that were the case). |

I hope they are still around. I doubt they're making much money off of this stuff anyway, given the cost of producing high-quality cards and bubbles. Yeah, it is disheartening. I can understand it, too. It's a weird thing though, because it's not as though Hasbro would license them to do it, and they don't provide any such service through the club. |

Reported, ebay usually pulls these down when noted it's a repro/knock-off.

The guy got back to me and actually said that it was a reproduction. Still awfully shady that he was trying to deceive people.
