It's not bad. You can set a restocking fee, rules on what you will take back, require buyer to pay shipping which is auto deducted from their refund. I was pissed that they were forcing me to adopt 14 day return with money back option to keep my 20% discount but I don't sell items that typically get returned.

This is more poorly thought out eBay bullshit. I can't think of a single positive thing about this. EBay encourange scamming enough as it is, this jus makes it easier for them.
Fucking idiots.

Damn it, all that time i spent building a postive buyer feedback i never sold on ebay just a buyer, sounds like there pushing away the sellers that are willing to go down in price with best offer and all the sellers that sell joes and ect at a reasonable price and shipping, you guys need to let me know what new auction sites your gunna be using, if ebay screws you in return that screws me and a potentional item for a descent price that some one isnt trying to price gouge with the price or shipping, i think im done buying on ebay, on top of paypal holding funds for an absurd amount of time. Most buyer can be crappy, i pay right away no b.s. it sounds like a collective underlining tone of b.s i support my fellow tankers cause.

Well, if you read the terms, that's not the case. They're simply automating the returns process. eBay covers the return shipping through a postage paid label which has tracking. There would be a notice when the buyer chooses to return the item and you'll have tracking for it. The buyer is bound to your terms. I'm not thrilled about the return policy requirements but they're forcing me to adopt it to maintain my powerseller 20% discount. I doubt people will be buying toy collectibles and then returning them so I don't mind participating for the moment. This policy is more for sized items that may not fit than toys someone may have buyers remorse about. They're trying to emulate Amazon but the problem is they don't have any control over the way buyers and sellers act, good or bad, except through the control of the money transaction. I've decided on a 20% restocking fee and I will not accept opened items since they were sold as brand new and sealed. If anything, you can make money off morons that return items through the moron restocking fee tax.

Personally I'm glad they are taking steps to protect buyers, when I use ebay I use it extensively. And I'm tired of running into bad sellers.
Like when you buy a cobra raven and it's send to you damaged because it was shipped inside two small boxes (almost twice the size of a shoe box) taped together. Or Buy a 30 dollar figure and receive it wrapped in a single sheet of newspaper and stuck in a envelope(no not a bubble envelope a regular one) And yes the ink did rub off on the damaged figure. or Receive resealed figure packages with razor marks all over the figure(indicating to me it was a failed custom attempt) three times. or win a auction cheap and the seller relists the item and offer to give you your money back. I could go on and on but yeah, I'm in favor of this change if it weeds out the bad sellers and helps to protect the good buyers. Last edited by Slim; 05-19-2012 at 09:43 PM.. Reason: correction |
