eBay Category Changes: Toys & Hobbies
Anything in blue is being removed and merged into the category above it. All TF in one category, all Joe in one category, all Comic Book (Marvel and DC, and tons others) in one category now. Takes effect in May. Thoughts? |

It sucks, just makes it harder to find what you're looking for without the category filters.

Found this. Works better for Joe, but still leaves room for error. Many folks will not fill these new fields out, and therefore items will not show up in search results when you "drill down".
Introducing Item Specific sets for Brand, Age Level, Gender, Theme, & Year across most of Toys. Add the Age Level and Brand item specific and use the recommended values to receive optimal visibility. If you already use item specifics such as Age or Manufacturer, please update your listings to the recommended sets for increased visibility. Action Figures will be consolidated with categories being replaced by item specifics for Product Type, Size, Packaging, Brand, Theme, Age Level, Gender, and Year. Add the recommended item specifics values to your listings before the category update to make sure your listings get moved correctly and receive optimal visibility for buyers. Action Figures – By Brand categories are being consolidated. Add the Genre item specific to your listings before the category update to make sure your listings get moved correctly and receive optimal visibility for buyers. |

I'm not sure what this all will mean for me. I usually type what I'm looking for in the search box and then press return. If that still works, I'm good. If not, who knows? I guess only the Shadow knows! Lol!

I just made a bunch of listings today for sigma 6 , with new catagories to use like brand name (Hasbro) , TM (GI JOE) , Size (8") , Packaging (No Packaging, Removed , Never Opened) , Gender (Boy) . We will have to wait and see what ebay has in mind here , there may be a more efficient idea in the works.
Lets wait and see , im hoping it doesnt divert buyers ! |
