I read somewhere last year that Google is in the process of starting a "ebay" like auction house.
They said it would be ran like ebay was int he beginning as Google themselves said they are not in it for any money but for the customers. Not sure when the beta will launch, but if they do it now, they will get LOTS of first time sign ups on the first hour. gmail, btw, is one of the best free emails service out there! |

its crazy that this discussion has come up because i have been thinking that a website needs to come out to take over ebay, atleast in the toy department. i am really sick of the ebay fees and paypal fees combined are a rippoff. but even though we all cant stand it, we are drove to use it atleast if you collect rah like me. its the only place to get figs. the prices are constently flucturating. ive seen a laser viper and red and green flak viper sell for around 30.00 bucks which is retarded and then desert scorpion is going for 40.00 bucks now? wtf is that all about.
i rember when you couldnt buy shockwave or outback for less then 25.00 30.00 bucks now your lucky to sell them for over 10.00. i know these prices have nothing to do with ebay changing pollicy but its another problem that has been pissing me off for a while now. if we had a joe site were people actually new how to desribe a figure in terms of "mint" or shit then we would be a lot better off. |

bottom line, Ebay rapes the seller with fees, and takes away his/her freedom (for leaving a neg. to a buyer)
ebay is really bad as of late.

I used to run an auction section on one of my websites back in the day. They are seriously easy to setup and run if you want something that is merely the house the transactions are found on, but is not involved with the sellers' and/or buyers' transaction.

Crap-absolute crap
At some point I will only buy and no longer be willing to sell. Did you also notice that they will begin restricting how much you can charge for shipping? On top of, has anyone checked out the Paypal sucks website and all the scary stories from there? The last round of increases seems to be the first nail in the Ebay coffin. It has gotten worse and worse to sell. The feedback changes, the Paypal requirements and not the shipping restrictions. Won't be long now I reckon. |

I think I'm more amazed by the fact that people aren't being honest just to get something over on someone. I've only bought on eBay and have never had a problem...nor have I ever caused a seller a problem. I would never even consider trying to pull some BS like "oh..., I never got it" and the like to get my money back and stuff like that. People are really shady...
