Got just about that situation going on right now. Sold a buyer and item, and part of it was damaged in transit. Told him to ship back the broken parts. Not my fault. Offered to hook him up with replacement, then the piece of trash filed a "not as described" complaint with Paypal. He also wants me to pay the return postage in addition to eating everything else involved. Jackass (and he isn't the first).

I just sold my entire ARAH collection for $485. My listing fees came to $45. My final value fee after payment was $29.00. Then, when I was paid, PayPal deducted $17.00 for their fee. Total Profit = $394
20%! tax on selling seems ridiculously high. Its just not worth it. After this round, I'd done selling on EBay. Anyone know of any better alternatives? |

I wrote this email to ebay: "I feel that ebay is heading in a direction that is not suited for sellers or buyers. I feel that ebay is traveling in a purely ebay-centric direction that is unfair to some ebayers. This community used to be prideful and vibrant and has as-of-late become bitter and poor due to new rules that only positively affect ebay itself."
and I received this one in return: "Dear numbscomics, We appreciate your comments and we will take them into consideration in furthering to better eBay in the future." Im pretty sure I just got auto-replied!

Yeah, Ebay's really getting me down as of late. They take their cut AND THEN SOME. Listing fees, Final Value fees, and then Paypal gets theirs...and like some of you mentioned, taking away the ability to rate as a seller? What the hell is that?
As it stands, it seems like it's the only game in town. I've had stuff (at GREAT prices) sit unsold for a year on TFieds, and I sell it in a few hours on Ebay. Are they're any worthy alternatives we could all get behind? Because I'm more than open to getting away from the 'bay. |

I just started selling on ebay in May and in just a few months it has gone to complete shit. All these new rules. They sure as hell don't benefit me in any way. The fees have gone up in that time. A person that bought from me filed a chargeback through paypal for an item I sent and he received. Hell he left me positive feedback and then did the chargeback. He got his money back and my item and I got Ass Raped. Ebay is going to destroy itself with these asinine policies they are implementing. Why can't sellers leave negative feedback but buyers can all day for no reason. Ebay and paypal are Retarded.
Will someone out there ever come out with a site to overthrow this evil ebay empire. I say all disgruntled tank members join forces and lets start Joebay or G.I.Joebay. Hell I'd settle for just an all toy auction site. |
