Hey forum folk,
Help me out with a question. I've got 128 25th anniversary style Joes up for auction (ending Saturday) but the only lot that doesn't seem to be generating "watchers" is THIS COBRA ARMY set: GI JOE 25th Ann Style Lot: Cobra Army Builder Lot - eBay (item 270799581195 end time Aug-20-11 10:04:50 PDT) Why, do you think? Overpriced? Just too many cobras in people's collections, or what? Your advice, feedback, suggestions would be welcome. Thanks! FR |

Try lowering the starting price.

just kinda random stuff in there. most 25th stuff can be had pretty cheap nowadays with the exception of a few rarer figures. you cant expect to sell them for too much.

I've noticed and learned a few things about selling stuff on ebay. First, you will get much more money if you start the auction at $.99. I would recommend selling each figure individually and offering a shipping discount for multiple wins. Most of those figs will get about $5. The Shadow Tracker, Red Ninja, and Black Storm Shadow will get a little more. Also, start the auction in the early evening, that way it will end in the early evening when all of us collectors are home from work. This presents the possibility of having a little bidding war in the last few minutes. Hope that helps.

For me, I would overlook this auction due to 2 reasons:
1. The starting price is high. Start low, and let your bidders increase the price. Once you have a few bidders, they will try and outbid one another. This rarely happens on high dollar auctions. You still might end up with a last minute snipe though. 2. For me, Troop Building consists of multiple instances of the same figure. I would be much more likely to buy 10 BATS for $50, than to buy 10 random troopers with different styles, for $30. I would rather pay more for the similar items. Just my thoughts. |

Darkwise and others;
Would you go this route for carded figures as well? I mean, starting at .99 and auctioning everything as a single? Last edited by farmerrande; 08-17-2011 at 06:53 PM.. Reason: Too quick on the send button... |
