Hey guys. I just had an auction end where I specified in the description asking for US bidders only. Well, I had a guy with 0 feedback from Mexico win the item. Frustrated, but not being a jerk I just told him that I cant ship to mexico and to be more careful next time.
How do I get my listing fees and final value fees back? Also, do I need to block the winner so he doesnt try and pay through paypal anyway...(just covering my bases) I googled this but I cant find anything. Thanks in advance! |

Try offering a second chance offer to the runner up. If he pays, just refund his money.

I dont allow them. It makes things a lot more complicated then i want them to be. They always act surprised when shipping is more expensive.
Do a "mutual agreement not to pay" with that bidder. If he does nothing with the claim then you automatically get your money back in 7 days i think it is |

I had that problem a while ago on E-bay with a bidder who was outside the US even though I specified only US bidders. Just do the mutual agreement to not follow through option to request a final credit refund then if you had other bidders you can do a second chance offer.

seriously international bidders irritate me
if you can't read or want to bid e-mail first they waste every 1's time and then the 2nd chance bidder thing.. he goes somewhere else... and you lose out because of someone elses stupidity |

I love international bidders on eBay. In my experiences, they have always been willing to pay more than U.S. bidders because the items are not available in their homelands and I have never had one complain about the shipping costs.
Recently, I had an international bidder from Australia purchase the set of Factory Droid WalMart exclusives in the Star Wars line for $224.95 when the six pack of figures retail for $9.96 each. I weigh the item and let the shipping calculator do all the work and now that you can print the customs forms along with your postage, it is simple to ship internationally. But in this case, if you specify that you only want U.S. bidders, they should obey the rules of the auction.

I am an international ebay bidder.
I always ask the seller before I bid even it says worldwide shiping. A friendly response makes me a more willing bidder. Also it is true that worlwide shipping auctions close in higher amounts. So there is a trick for me, I ask the seller who says us only shipping if they can ship to Turkey. Sometimes they say the magic word "yes". That way I could get some bargains.
