First of all this is in GI Joe general discussion because it regards a GI Joe parts source and customer shopping opinion.
okay guys and gals....this is NOT a sales pitch...I just really need your help. I HATE eBay as many of you do as well, but I need it currently. I have my own prostores website as well but it's costly and it has zero traffic which means I have to advertise and spread the word through forums and mailings anyway. I can get rid of my prostores website alltogether by opening a new store here: eBid Store : Collect And Play (paypal and MO payments + more options if I choose) My question is.....if I move my GI Joe inventory to eBid.net from eBay and am able to lower my prices overall (because eBid is far less expensive to operate) would you come to me for parts? Or if you do not buy individual parts.....do you think the move makes sense? Thanks in Advance Jerry

Have you thought about trying Master Collectors new Auction site? Its freer right now because its in beta testing but I'd think that would be the best place for toy auctions eventually.

The eBid.net site is a one time payment of $50 with zero fees and only 2% of the final value compared to eBays 12% (and $500 per month in listing fees for 10,000 items)

I'm sure as a business owner you have done the numbers, but..
Don't you get more exposure with Ebay? You don't consider the extra cost with ebay as an advertising and marketing expense? |

To top it all off, they completely treat sellers like crap....zero customer service.....so eBay is becoming more trouble than it's worth : (

here's a true story/example of how they treat sellers.
When lsiting custom "questionable items" I was told to contact a certain person at eBay. That person told me exactly how to list the items to stay within eBay policies and to remain legal. I did EXACTLY as I was told by my eBay customer service rep. The items were removed 2 months later and my account was limited for policy violation. I contacted eBay...they admited that they have in their notes that I spoke to this person and I was told how to list the items. I said great, take the violations away and reset my account so that I can continue to lsit new items. They refused and I swear on my life this was thier reasong..... "Our representatives are here to guide you, ultimately it is your responsibility for the listing." So basically what they are saying is this...."we want you to contact us to make sure that your listings are in compliance, but if you listen to us as requested and we were wrong, it's your fault as a buyer." ???????????????? They are out of thier damn minds : (

I'll shop anywhere IF you have the stuff I need. I've been searching all over the net for the stuff I'm looking for. Trying to stay the hell away from ebay. But I can't find anything. I figured I'd have no problem finding the stuff I need here on the tank with all the hardcore Joe collectors but even that turned out to be useless. Unfortunately the only place I've been able to find the parts I needed was on ebay. And a lot of them took months of constantly searching every day until 1 showed up.

So if you ever need parts...hit me up and I'll see what I can do!
