When you own your own webstore you have to advertise anyway...I may as well send them to my eBid store and save everyone money lol.

I've looked through your store and honestly I think it's a cool store, the reason I don't buy is because I hate ebay too and because of that I'm up to my ass in extra figures that are mint and complete and too many parts to even figure out what they are and list them but I keep getting more. It's hard to sell without ebay. The prices I have on my list here are very low and I'm willing to go lower. I have a Viper pilot I'm willing to let go for $65 but no takers it seems to me I have no choice but to go to ebay. I don't even want to be selling I just want to get rid of my extras for money to put into my collection I even prefer to trade, here's my list and I'm in the same dilema with only a fraction of my stuff listed for sale.Take a look

I specialize in parts, very few complete items if any, but if your ever in need of parts....I currently have the most listed from an individual seller on eBay. I have about 4000 different (with quantities of each) GI Joe original parts.
So if you ever need parts...hit me up and I'll see what I can do! |

Despite all the fees and the hassles, there's no way I could ever leave ebay for something as small as ebid. I list about 500-600 items a month and sell through about 400-500 items a month. No way I could get that kind of turn around on ebid. Also 75% of my sales are international, and although ebid is growing domestically, it really isn't doing so hot internationally yet.
As long as you are able to manage your inventory in real time between sites (which I am not set up to do), there really should be know question about switching your prostore to ebid. But I wouldn't expect much. Every year it's a new site that's hot to switch to that will give ebay a run for it's money, and every year it doesn't. There's so little competition for them in the auction side of things, they don't even consider themselves an auction site anymore the way they handle their sellers. Everyone is treated as a vendor because they see themselves competing with vendor run sites given that no one on the auction side can say boo to them. |

I think they lower fees like the government cuts spending. "we really wanted to raise fees 10x, but compromised for 3x, which equals a cut of 70%" when it really is a 300% increase. And new this month. We are lowering fees AGAIN by giving you free BIN. However, they are slashing the # of free listings by 50% and capping it at $100 final value. Honestly, If something is going to bring $10, let alone $100, I could give a rat's ass about a listing fee. But you never know what will sell on ebay without trying, and I will try a lot less with only 50 free listings. Them fees pile up if stuff doesn't sell. Especially if it is stuff you can't risk listing for 99 cents to get it on for free. Even with a BIN a lot of cheap assholes will break it to put in a 99 cent bid within hours if not minutes of listing it, so nobody else gets a crack at the BIN. /ebay rant LOL |

the more people who join eBID the better. the more sellers and merchandise, the more chance people will come to check it out.
sellers on eBID need to beat ebay prices. but they can because the fees are reasonable. there is a only 2% final value fee once you sign up for the $50 starting deal on eBID. no listing fees and you get 5 pictures free.

As I've said a few times before, it is not an eBay alternative yet....but it is a great storefront replacement for me....this move alone will save me over $1000 per year...hey...I'll take it! LOL Now it's up to all the eBid sellers to start driving traffic to eBid, because people are not going to just show up magically. That's how eBay started...slow....with sellers driving traffic. Did you know this? > everyone who has ever paid for an ebay item through paypal has an email attached to that paypal payment. This means that you can create a mailing list of people who have given you money in the past for the items you sell and send them to your eBid store for more great stuff at better prices! If everyone does this.....this is how you damage eBay. And it's perfectly legal : )

i was thinking of slipping a note in all the stuff i sell on ebay telling them to checkout eBID.
lower fees mean lower prices. bottom line.
