Well this is what happens when all those buyers complain about high shipping costs so ebay's answer to it is to charge you the seller so both honest and jerk sellers get hurt that's just great. Frak ebay.

eBID people, eBID!!! i just cancelled all my ebay auctions and signed up today for a seller's account. no fees on anything but 2% final value. that is legit. eBID "buy it now" stuff shows up when you do a google search under "shopping". this is the competition that ebay needs. their psuedo monopoloy allows them to bend buyer and seller over to make more and more profit. ultimately the buyer is going to pay. i cant believe some people just lay down and take it. leave ebay and start searching on eBID people! at least try google search under "shopping" to find the best deal. chances are you will find it cheaper on eBID because the sellers don't have to pay such outrageous fees.

Yeah, after all the complaints about people circumventing ebay fees by charging high shipping is it any wonder that they did this.

If I were to ship something big and heavy, I'd just charge extra for added eBay shipping cost.

I don't add my profit into my shipping by raising shipping costs over my actual shipping and supply cost, but this is another cost of the shipping, so they're going to have to go up. It's really not going to effect me at all. I already pay paypal fees on my shipping costs and include it in the shipping fee (usually only a couple cents), but it'll have to go up on average .40 cents a package now on domestic shipping. I don't agree with people who add their ebay final value and list fees into their shipping costs, but this isn't that, it's an additional cost onto the shipping itself.
I'd really love to go to ebid, but can ebid give me $3000-$4000 in sales every month? I really don't think so. 75% of my buyers are international, I doubt they'd be shopping on ebid. Despite all the fees, I still manage to break even with my buying and selling on ebay, and this fee rate hike won't change that. Looking at the rate changes in more detail, they are lowering percentages overall. But not enough to balance out the shipping fee inclusion if you sell a majority of $10 and under figures. bah this is going to make me do more calculating when I combine shipping. bottom line is this means more money out of buyers hands into ebay's pockets. but why dont we turn it into ANOTHER conversation about scalping?
