I'm sure someone has asked this already, but I can't seem to find any information about how to open up these figs. I've already cut my fingers trying to use an exacto knife. Pictures would be very helpful. Please help!
PS. I've posted up a custom (outback) under the customizer named Falcon. on Joecustoms.com. Take a look and let me know what you guys think. I've got about 6 or different customs that I am going to try and post on the tank and joecustoms.com. Thanks, |

What I do (I don't know if anyone else has done this) is take off the legs and hold the figure in one hand. I wiggle the metal hip joint thing until there is some seperation. Then I take the exacto and start seperating the two halve. That way you don't have to jam the knife through, which is where most of the injuris happen. Hope this helps.
Nice customs by the way. Last edited by CobraRebellion; 04-13-2009 at 12:36 PM.. |

Check here:
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ial-index.html I finally cracked my first 25th torso this weekend! I just put the figure in a sock and uses a pair of pliers. Put the figure sideways between a pair of pliers or channel locks and clamp down on the shoulders. The pressure cracks the torso. Use the sock to prevent clamp marks on your figure and to catch all the pieces.

I just put the figure in a vice and close it around it's shoulders until is pops. Sometimes the pegs inside even stay intact. This method has never once failed me. It's a flat vice with no teeth so it wont leave indents, but I still use a sock to wrap it in.
