Those DEVGRU Operators look sick! Any plans for some Combat Applications group Operators, or SAD/SOG?

Where do you guys get the data to make your customs so realistic? I have never heard of the "US Navy Development Group". I have studied the SEALs for a book I am writing, but mostly just their training. I know about SAD/SOG, but where do you guys get the images to work from?
Please tell me about USN DEVGRU and what they do. I imagine they are a part of SEALs? I want to learn dang it. |

Looking like a good start...
For mine I just use pictures I can find, and a good dose of "real world" thinking.. what would they want, what would they be wearing in that time period.. DEVGRU was/is SEAL Team SIX.. the best of the SEAL's, think of them as the DELTA force of the Army. A lot of the info is conjecture.. but you can get some idea of things from the books that have come out as well as other sources.. but most of it is going to be guesstimation.

Well, like NSA said, alot of what you hear will be urban legend, however, there are some solid facts that are known. These units are real, and these guys put their pants on one leg at a time, they aren't superheroes. In the United states military, there are currently only two known Tier one units in operation, Combat applications Group (Delta Force), and Naval Special Warfare Development group (Seal team 6). There may be more that are Unkown. At the risk of over simplifying it, basically, only the best Navy Seals make it into DEVGRU and only the best Army soldiers, usually Rangers or Special Forces, make it into 1rst SFOD-Delta. Tier one is US military nomenclature referring to units that specialize in rapid response to terrorist actions. While they are trained in a wide variety of skills, their primary function is killing terrorists, bottom line. Clear the room, move on. As for images, you won't really find any, but remember that these guys dont really wear uniforms, they wear whatever makes sense for the mission, and whatever gear they prefer. |

look for the book Rouge Warrior for information on Seal Team Six.
His autobiography is a good start. The novels contain some historical information but mostly as a support to the story. Also look for the book "the real team". Members of the early Six team.
