Simple kitbash of Ripper and Recondo head so far. And I chopped off Ripper's shoulder strap. I might go with a tan Wild Bill hat eventually.
Anyways, as you can see the skin tones don't match up. Should I try to lighten the head or darken the body? And how do I accomplish this...I'm not much of a painter so I'd need tips on what paint to purchase. |

Send a PM to Cloud Strife. He's working on a Gnawgahyde and could probably answer your question.

great start, ive had gnagahyde on the back burner for awhile, but all i can say is, use good paint for flesh tone, there is nothing worse then chunky faces, maybe a little windex in the mix for smoothness. but i think since he spends a lot of time in the sun you could just paint the torso and skip repainting the face, thats always a pain and recondos face works, gnawgahyde is the first thing i thought when i saw recondo, cant wait to see it finished

Darn...too bad they don't match. I have a Recondo head that I want to do that with too.

I had the same issue as you, i just ended up painting the face to match the body since it meant i had to paint less. I definitely agree with O'doyle on making sure you do not make the face all chunky with sloppy paint. Thin it out 1st.
Here is the one i did a while back. Last edited by Kalibus; 11-23-2010 at 07:56 PM.. |
