This is my Metal Gear project for custom con on the fwoosh, a few weeks ago I posted Snake, Meryl, And Liquid. These customs have a High amount of sculpting done on them, basically all the white stuff is the parts I sculpted with apoxie sculpt. I usually grind figures down then sculpt over them.
I’ve seen allot of MGS joe customs but I’ve never seen anyone actually finish all of foxhound… Even Decoy. Last edited by RayH; 11-01-2009 at 11:43 PM.. |

First up is Vulcan Raven, He’s a Marvel Universe thunderball, with serpent or head and lots of sculpting. I forgot to add his laces on his boot still, and I will make his giant gun and drum. The one that comes with heavy duty is too shrimpy and I need to make one proper size. Revolver Ocelot is a wolverine origins movie sabertooth with wild billl boots, and the extra unmasked beachead-head from the comic pack. I gave him some forehead wrinkles to look more aged. I still need to add bullets to the bottom belt and add a gun holster.. Last edited by RayH; 10-12-2009 at 03:20 AM.. |

Psycho Mantis is the obvious movie doctor body that was sculpted too look like psycho mantis. But I made some modifications, I felt he was to fat. So I drilled his torso down a massive amount so he’d be super skinny like mantis is supposed to be. Then I sculpted rib cage showing… and I sanded down the sides of thighs to make him more skinny. I had to modify the mask, everyone uses the mask that comes with the pit trooper, but it’s a bit on the inaccurate side so I placed the vent in the front, and made proper evil eye lenses. Sniper Wolf, is pretty damn involved figure. Shes a marvel universe ms marvel torso with movie cover girl legs, and movie scarlett arms. The hardest thing about wolf is her torso, I basically made it so she has a removable coat, it’s a separate peices from the body, so it work like most 25th figures removable torso gear. I did it for two reason it makes painting a million times more easy, and it just looks better and is more accurate not attached to the body. I despretly need a proper sniper rifle for her, I can’t find any like she had in the game. I'm annoyed the picture came out kinda crappy and din't pickup much of the ammo pocket details. Decoy Octopus was pretty fun, because theres like very little reference material on his true form theres literlly like 2 pictures that exist. Decoy octopus is suppsed to have shaven down facial features, he shaves down his nose and ears. Plus he has weird hair that’s really far back but theres this one curl that comes up. construction wise he's movie doc coat, trenchcoat snake eyes torso, black cobra commander legs from the ol boxset Plus wild bill arms and movie duke face. Genome soldiers the heavy armored troopers were made from TRU fireflys, I sculpted the chest armor. I need to add the gun holsters to them still. The basic genome troopers, no sculpting, super easy. I want to make the other two types of genome troopers, the artic ones I could do no problem, I need two arctic movie snake eyes. Then the radiation trooper would need allot sculpting Last edited by RayH; 10-12-2009 at 03:21 AM.. |

I’m working on ninja as well but he’s a huge pain in the ass, may be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’m good at doing like clothes and organic stuff like body sculpts. But my weak point with sculpting is like robotic type stuff, so he’s been really challenging, I’ve gone through 3 sets of failed legs on him. Also for anyone who missed it last time here are pictures of Snake , meryl, and Liquid. Last edited by RayH; 10-12-2009 at 01:00 AM.. |

Great so far!
I like seeing the WIP since there is such extensive construction going on! Did you plan these out so you could take a WIP group shot or do you have my kind of ADD where you keep switching between pieces you're working on? Regardless, this is great work here. I do like Metal Gear customs, since there is so much appropriate gear out there to load them with. ROC probably has a few hidden gems in all it's modern weaponry. If I ever have time, I'd love to do the bosses from part 3, since they are like a 60's version of Cobra. If I ever want to pure is myself, I'll give the ladies from part 4 a try. My only suggestions are maybe Heavy Duty's giant spring loaded chain gun can be modded for Raven, and for the grunts, Medicom's MG Kubricks have a transparent plastic attachment with an exclamation point on it. I think that idea is too funny not to swipe! I can't wait to see these done! |

I can't tell you how much I struggle with sculpting. It really lets me appreciate what you've done, here. What you've done with the Apoxie Sculpt, is absolutely amazing. That two peice removeable jacket is incredible.

Nice work, I had the same idea, but wasn't going to do it for ages. Nice work.
