I have been thinking about a diorama with some of the 1:72 vehicles I have made, and I thought it might be good to include a couple ground units. Unfortunately, most of the Cobra ground vehicles aren?t based on real-life counterparts, with a few exceptions. I was looking through a list of Cobra vehicles to potentially make, and I came across the Adder. I never owned this one, but I like the look of it. Unusually for being released later in the original toy run, it is not very outlandish, and it is painted my favorite Cobra Blue color. It is a fairly straightforward 6 wheeled chassis with a driver and a missile rack. I thought I would try scratch building one.

Similar to some of the other projects I have going, I printed out the blueprints included with the toy and sized them to roughly 1:72 scale. This allowed me to cut out some basic shapes from sheet styrene.



After putting some parts from the spares box on, it is starting to take shape.

I basically have the Adder done except for the wheels. I am going to have to buy some as I don?t have anything suitable in my spares box.
