Just cleared a major hurdle.



All the doors and the aft window section is fitted.

I never bought any hinges. Just used two thin tabs of black 100mph tape per door.



The finished canopy is removable and I didn't break it. Also, it is not a fiddly as I would have thought.



With the canopy off, installed the warning tape on each side of the cockpit edge. The tape is covered when the doors are closed.



The finished canopy just pops in and locks in place as it is supposed to.



And the windows open.



I wouldn't try to put a figure in thru the windows. Also they are held open with black plastic coffee stirs.



The only thing really left is decals, IR position lights and building some bonus wing stores since I am omitting the antennas and the landing light.

I have the most of the color decals and IR position lights done.



Made an AN/ALQ 131(V) countermeasures pod. Needs paint and decals.



The 131 is magnetic like the rest of the wing stores.

Once a few of the little things are done I'll figure out how to do the finished gallery.

Thank you for asking. I have two (sudo-work) projects under way.

A bunch of silly foam/foam core ?penny? gliders for needy kids this Christmas.





The production gliders are not the Batwing. Sorry kids. Trademark and all.
Plus straight lines were easier to cut and used less material.



The other is a presentation model of the XQ-58 for one of the directors at Eglin Test Center. No pressure there.



They are retiring after 30 plus years of service.



But I do have a tip.

I was dulling so many knife blades cutting the foam board.

I filled over a coffee mug and used the rough ring on the bottom to sharpen the x-acto blades.

Worked like a fine sharpening stone. Still wish I could have used the CNC machine.

But for me? It has already been done before but I would like a Classified Megatron Flak Cannon or MASS device.

Perhaps an easy Char Inspired Zaku paint job the Avatar AMP suit. Then use a Crimson Guard figure with a Steve Rogers head for the pilot.

Thought about a red suited mech when Hasbro released the Crimson Baroness.
