Thankfully each day this more looks an aircraft.
The seats and center console are the correct size of the aircraft. The issue humans are more squishy than action figures. The leg holster, ALSE vest and other leg accessory doesn't help much for fit. So the seat will probably end up being craft foam with the center console omitted. I am not cutting the pass thru since the craft foam is pushing out the aircraft skin and proper shape might not be maintained. The shape could be maintained if the area was reinforced with styrene but I am going to gamble that no one will notice my cheat. The greenhouse windows are a single piece cut from a Canada Dry Ginger Ale bottle. I taped it back in place so you can see the orientation before bring cut but the top of a 1.5 liter Smart Water is really close to the shape of the chin bubble without having to reheat.

I’ve never seen a custom vehicle made this way. I gotta admit its strangely fascinating.

Great updates. Love all the found materials you're incorporating. Have you done a lot of papercraft projects? Anything at this scale and level of structural reinforcement?
This is giving me a lot of ideas.

This is my third pepakura project. The only thing close in scale was a TFA helmet. The helmet didn't required the internal structure, but needed to be fiberglassed, wearable and durable.

Committed to MH-6.
The FRIES Bars are made from a wire coat hanger. Need to rework the rope mounting point. The main transmission is from bits of round plastic and the mast is Bic pen parts. The rotor hub is foam filled poster board and the blades are paper with a wooden leading edge spar. The bottle cap on top of the hub needs to be cut down and the hub needs to be detailed. Doubt there be a swash plate or pitch control links unless I stumble on the right size plastic washer.

This is awesome. I thought "pepakura" was the name of the aircraft until I started reading through the thread and then did an internet search.
Apparently it refers to a process of inputting 3d Models into a program called "pepakura" which then outputs that form onto some kind of easy to fold but durable paper in a pattern that can be followed to shape it into the desired model shape i.e. "papercraft". Sorry if that was mentioned somewhere but I didn't know all that - I mean, I knew what the constituent elements were but I didn't have the full picture until I did my search and learned and saw some other crazy cool projects that people have done using the process. The helmet you made with this technique looks awesome too.

tt8l Thank you for providing the background for everyone.
I guess that would have been important background for me to have provided on page one. :( Ok, important safety tip. ;) Here is the view of the main mast and blades when viewed from the nose so you can compare it to the WIP model. I used yellow to highlight the errors in the digital model. This shows what I alluded to earlier about gaps and such. Since it is a low resolution digital model there are huge gaps and stuff is just floating in space. Please not the the rotor hub isn't even present in the digital model, no detail on the transmission and the PC links and blades attach to nothing. The digital model is about 5 inches long and it was increased to 31 inches to fit Classified and Marvel Legend Figures.

Post weekend update.
The bottom seat cushion is Walmart delivery box cardboard folded back on itself. The cyclic and collective are coffee stirs and left over craft foam. The cyclic not being shaped properly will be hidden by the pilot's legs. Printed off a new instrument panel. Would have been better to make photo-real overlays for the up-sized digital model. Save that for next time round. The elastic seat belt is the hang tag from a pair of sandals. The Robbie Tanks are excel breathmint tins painted OD green. Same trick from the Fortnite Choppa. The rope mounting point on the FRIES bar is the lock end of a zip-tie and the antennas are cut from the black plastic lid of an oats container. The plastic is really flexible and should survive minor bumps. Final reinforcements and details on the struts and skips mounting points. Using a 3/4 nose perspective to show the tail rotor is the long way round. ;)

Not much of an update.
Finished the tail rotor, capped off the main rotor, did the circuit breaker panel in the cockpit and put on an inlet barrier filter. Need to: finish off the cockpit details make two multi-function displays foot pegs on the struts figure out how to install the vertical fin EDIT: finish the antennas Install the windscreen and chin bubble plexiglass. Make the windscreen frame put on the IR slime lights Decide how much detail to add to the transmission and rotor hub And the cake. For the vertical fin I should have glued a magnet inside the tail boom so it could have been removable. :(
