Tried to use silver rub n buff over the entire figure didn't work. The silver kept rubbing off.

There is an antitamper ring on the bottom of the head to prevent popping the head off. The manufacturer added them to their open box toys after the Tik Tok trend of stealing Lebron Jame's head off the Spaccejam figures.

You will need to cut through the anti tamper ring to remove the head. If you have no plans for the zerg head its easiest to just hacksaw the head down the middle or dremel the head in half from the back. Try not to cut too deep so you don't damage the ball socket inside the head.

Yes, that anti-tamper ring was super hard plastic.

When I tried the boil and pop, the head separated from the ring.

I had to buy a cheap rotary tool at Walmart to cut it. The tool was less than $30 and has a two year warranty.

Should be a good stand in until I get my hands on my good Proxxon again.
