UPDATE: I made a video of the sea trial and showing off the features.
https://youtu.be/WM539EY12OA I've started work on making an RC Moray. The Moray has always been one of my favorite vehicle designs. It just looks mean and fast. I was inspired by Gabe T's RC Moray on youtube. I especially like that he has turret rotation tied to the steering, something I want to try and copy. But I decided to go with one motor instead of two so mine might be slower but I'm more into scale speeds and I REALLY don't want it to tip, flip or crash. I also plan to motorize the missile launcher. But no launching missiles or torpedoes. Maybe down the road I'll try that but right now I just want it in the water. And I might add lights because I have a set sitting on my desk. Thanks for looking. 3D printed torpedoes and MG because this was more a beater Moray and didn't have all the parts.

Made a lot of progress on this. She floats and the motors push her pretty well. I also got the steering working and that is tied to rotation of the turret. An amazingly cool feature I took from Gabe T's rc moray design. Check out his youtube channel. I also got the rocket launcher to raise and lower and I'm now adding LED lights. If she stays afloat and handles well this should be fun to race around in the pond or river.

Thank guys. Glad you're digging it.
The Moray now has a mechanized rocket launcher that raises and lowers as well as working lights including the spotlight. I made it a little wider to fit the LED easily but I think it looks pretty good. I'm hoping to get her in the water this weekend. Wish me luck

I took the RC Moray out on the water yesterday and she did great. No sinking. No figure overboard. And the lights didn't go up in flames I posted a video showing it in action. I also walk through some of the features. Thanks for all the feedback and kind words. Getting close to finishing this one.

Nova, didn’t know but I’m already subscribed to you man, I’ll check it out in a bit! ;)
Btw, how did u do the 3D parts? I guess you need a 3D printer though lol? Only ask because my Moray’s kinda missing the same parts! :P |
