Some progress. The street level is painted with magnetic paint and magnets are installed in all the foot pegs.

Pretty cool project. I wondered how well that magnetic paint worked. I'm kind of doing something similar with magnets in the feet, but I'm using some galvanized flashing on the floor.

In retrospect, if you have the patience to trim it, do the flashing and then stretch some contact paper over it. The magnetic paint worked well, but not great and required many layers. I’ll only use it again for small areas where I can lay it on super thick, but it’s a weak attraction otherwise.

Thanks, good to know. I was concerned the metal particles mixed in with the paint might rust after a while. I'm actually going with painted styrene over it so I can cut a pattern in it.
