HI guys!this will be my take on the 2011 skystriker,i was inspired when superflanker made a tomcat version out of SS, credit goes to him. i got one from our friend eric and decided to make it a 2 seater jet. heres a pic ( for reference only), i will be leaving my old skystriker WIP temporarily as i lack various parts for it.
after i got the jet, i immediately studied how to make it a 2 seater. after some debate over my head, heres what i came off. the pilot figures are just for reference only, but will be using the helmet and hose configuration some scratchbuilt consoles and seats, see those holes? planning to put some lights gimiks into it. the 2nd pilots console is not yet attached to the backing for wiring purposes. i still need to put some control sticks for the 2 pilots in the middle. my mistake for not making the consoles historically correct...just for the fun of making something out of it. slowly..progressing.. what do you think guys? nath Last edited by nath_1977; 10-25-2011 at 12:18 AM.. |

Looks great. Just makes me more angry at Hasbro for not figuring this out themselves.

That's Awesome! Least now I see what my mind has been drawing!
I Remember looking at my sky striker saying something along the lines of similar feelings. Just unsure how to do so. I work with sheet streen. and I know every angle you`re going for here. Keep it up! I`m currenty working on something similar for my Thundercracker dash and HUD. but one thing at a time!

You need to send pics to HASBRO and show them that not only can a 2-seater be done, but it can be done well.
Great job.

Yeah, I just can't get past the new single seat cockpit. That, coupled with the poor missile mounts makes me declare the new Skystriker a failure. I want to like it, I really do, but those two simple things ruin it for me. This cockpit conversion really shows that Hasbro was being LAZY in it's development. There simply is no reason in the world the new jet couldn't fit two modern era figures.
Hasbro's half-assed effort. |

Nice work. Could you post a few pics without the figures?
