I’m going to try to widen the Hero Force Shark Cargo plane. My wife gave me one for Christmas, and it’s pretty great, but it’s such a tragedy it won’t fit many of the joe vehicles. So I plan to make it wide enough to accommodate the Wolverine/Lynx chassis. I’ve taken it apart, removed the functions, and cut out the bulkhead expanding the length of the cargo bay. I also cut out the clips for the seats so the inside has no real protrusions. I also cut out the sides near the ramp and will make those parts of the ramp. I couldn’t find any ref for this so I’m just going for it. Any thoughts or advice is very welcome. Wish me luck.

Awesome!
Are you planning on adding styrene strips all the way across the entire fuselage? Or bulging the cargo Bay only? |

The plastic is really flexible. My plan is to keep the top as is and connected. But stretch out the gap on the floor and fill with styrene. That's how I mocked it up. spreading the top would be tough because of the way the detachable wing thing works. I don't want to mess that up. It's a really cool feature. But again, I'm not sure this'll work.

I've seen beautiful work done by heating gently the plastic with a tiny torch or specialized small heat gun . Slowly stretching and shaping the plastic. It's a one way strategy unfortunately and across the long fuselage it could leave unsightly bumps and wrinkles.
Your idea is very sound. A transporter plane for Joes is needed! |

Interesting project. Someone would do good to make affordable repro propellers for these as they always seem to be missing on used ones found in the wild.

I got the spacing finalized and it'll fit a Wolverine, Awe Striker and most anything else I'd want to make air transportable. And I only had to stretch the bottom. The top is the same width so the wings still attach as if it was stock. It's still rough but now I can start laying in some detail to cover up the gaps. This should be nice and sturdy as well so still playable, not a display only piece.

That's coming along nicely! What adhesive are you using to bond the styrene to the plane's plastic? Eager to see more progress pics as you continue with this project.

https://amzn.to/2YQmHM2 It's like super glue but I like it better. I learned about it on the youtube channel Toy Gigante. He's a really great customizer. I also use hot glue for bigger gaps. Thank you. I always loved how in the comic Gi Joe would transport all their gear around in a C-130 but we never got a toy. I can't wait to get some Gi Joe stickers on it.
