I used the 25th Dusty/ROC Pit Trooper torso for a Duke custom. I can't decide which look is better.
Do I go with the belt painted as part of the shirt and pretend that the bottom of the shirt is opening a bit: Or do I go with the belt and untucked long shirt option like a 25th Recondo look? Please lmk in the poll above. I'll probably go with the option that has the most votes in one week.

I guess I had to vote in order to see the results. I picked option 1 as it will be easy to remember to subtract my vote from that option, once the voting ends. I did not make my choice with that vote.

I say paint the belt as a belt and not part of the shirt.

Out of the two options I think the untucked shirt looks better (although not vintage accurate).
However I agree with Axonrey, I think I would go with the first option and paint the belt to look like a belt. |

I like Duke with the shirt tucked and I’d paint the belt as a belt. So first picture, brown or green belt.
Looking at the voting options, I don’t think that’s one of them...out of those options, Option 1 because I do like that torso for Duke & think he looks good.

So I think I see what pic option 1 is about. You were trying to make the extra piece not a belt because if you lose the shirt skirt, the thin belt sculpted on the lower torso is exposed, resulting in a double belt look. I was going to suggest whittling down and/or sanding down the sculpted torso belt, and using the recondo add with skirt cut off. But I think the belt might look dorky high on the torso, made worse by the waist being very thin.
It looks like the major goal is to use that upper torso instead of the 50th Firefly one because of the turtleneck. I wonder how swapping the upper and lower parts of the two torsos would look. Unfortunately, I have no more 50th FF spare torsos to try this out (but I do have spare Dusty torsos). Other options might be to sculpt in fill where the removable belt goes, and maybe use a taller bigger add-on belt to cover half the filled-in part and half the sculpted-on belt. Cutting down the turtleneck on the 50th FF still seems easier to do, but I am interested in seeing you make this torso work. I am sure there are customs and pics in this forum that have done it before but none come to mind right now... |

I don't care for the untucked part hanging out. Doesn't look right on duke IMO. I would just paint the other belt to be a belt like everyones else has been saying OR you could still use the Dusty belt but snip off the excess shirt below. Over all though your figure looks great

I also don't like the untucked long shirt.
I would paint the belt or cut off the bottom of the shirt. or even better, find a better belt |

I don't care too much for either option, honestly. I'd try swapping the lower torso with the Lt. Stone/Kwinn lower torso or the 50th Flint lower torso and see how the details and size match up so you can avoid this whole issue. I've always disliked this lower torso though, so maybe I'm biased.
If I had to picj between the two options, I'd skip the skirt for sure.
