great ideas. the frame is a bit of work but would work.
what you said regarding scaled down issues is especially true with the storm eagle plane. i had nothing but frustration as a kid trying to properly sit the figure. gorgeous plane and size. sad. I sold all my scrap rattlers and skystriker parts. I always wanted to make a hind chopper using 2 rattler front canopies/fuselage front, staggered and grafted onto a tomahawk mid section and engines, then finish with a proper tail... does anyone have junk modern skystriker canopies or could pose one on a skystorm to see how it looks? here, i took my italeri 1/32 f35 canopy. let's say you sacrifice several knots of top speed, put 2 joes inside, raise them up so they actually have situation awareness and better all around view. another option is to CUT the skystorm nose to make into a stubby chopper fitting this canopy.( green sheet indicate area to shorten) this would be a single seater. it needs a more interesting nose weapon system/turret... the italeri kit is bloody expensive and it's styrene. let's use a modern skystriker canopy instead, see what it looks like. skystriker canopy looks dated though. to clear joes heads from the rotor, we need a landing gear raising the skystorm 1 inch above ground. skis would be old school and induce drag. if wheels or skids they need to blend or retract to follow the skystorm high speed , sleek style. I want a skystorm 2.0, pick up where their shortcuts killed it. make it into a proper "modern" ( as in 1988 modern) dragonfly successor. they have skystorms airlifting the rolling thunder in the animated commercial for heaven's sake! if anybody can bug Guy Cassaday or Carson Mataxis, I want to see pics of the intended toy/ prototype/ what they really had in mind before it got costed down and simplified for manufacture. Please?

I might have a damaged vintage Striker canopy, if you guys want to give it a shot. Drop me a line and I will see that I can find.
I would love to get a set or file of those large replacement rotor blade as I always like this whirly bird, but the blades we got were a shame on this bird. momaw nadon |

That F-35 canopy looks great! I love the shape. I just watched a video on printing clear resin and it sounds like it can be done. The fading over time thing might be inevitable though.
momaw, I just printed out a set for someone else, and that has me thinking I might just print a few out and put them up on my etsy store. I'm getting a new printer, should be here today, with a larger build plate...and its faster. That should make printing these types of things in one big batch, much more reasonable. Some of the Joes were doing final detailing work on the rotors.

I'd very much like to get a set of these as well. Never really cared much for the Skystorm, but your upgrades make it pretty cool.
