Some time ago I started thinking about making my own cobra trooper. Using the bits that I had, I cobbled together a suitable figure. Then I started looking at various colour schemes.

Once I’d settled on a design I had to come up with a suitable profile.

And painting up a prototype wasn’t a big deal.

But that wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to build a squad of Monsoon Serpents. And after looking some casting videos and buying some Black Major toys, I decided I could cast a figure, easy right?
Well so far I’ve managed to make moulds and pull casts of the head, both feet/shins and the crotch, as well as a back pack and a knife. It’s been an expensive and frustrating project so far. |

I’ve learnt how to rivet gi joe arms (using an EZ-rivet tool) That’s probably not a big thing to most seasoned customisers but it was a major mental block for me. Watch me rivet a Joe arm for the first time here:

Good stuff, We66y.
You are on quite a journey with this project. I know the trial and error process on making your own figure can really tax your resolve but you seem to be on the right track and you haven't given up. It's pretty cool that you decided to do this all yourself than trust someone else to do it all for you. I made that mistake in the past by trusting the wrong people with a similar project. I look forward to seeing how your project concludes...

Cheers dude,
It’s definitely a bigger task than I realised. It’s bloody expensive as well, I’m hoping once I’ve completely the build I can sell a few to offset some of the cost. Quote:
