Well started Yet another vehicle project lol

This time an Old Warhorse.
The M113.

Plan is full interior, drivers,Command and troop hatches on the roof all working.
Rear drop down and hopefully smaller opening door too.

Once that is done then a ACAV Copula with a .50 Cal M2. With gun shields and M60s either side. This will be an Add on kit (Hopefully).

Possibly with A3 add on Exterior fuel tanks and uparmoured front.

One M113 base but config for A1 to A3 and ACAV, with the add on's.

We Will see how it goes.

all being well once the M113 done, I will be doing a M577 afterwards.

So today has been an Interior Work day on the M113.

Made the Drivers seat (not pictured) and Drivers control panel for dials to be added too.

Redid the flooring in Plasticard and also added NO Slip. Would have liked to add more alas ran out lol

Building the Command/Gunner platform with Commander/Gunner seat and Runner seats.
Command/Gunner seat will be on a bracket to flip the seat area up.

Also utilised the Engine area to reinforce the front and top. Before the Front plate and roof plates are added later.

Lastly added the little strips to help secure ammo boxes and kit over the tracks.

Next to make is Internal Fuel tank (removable) and hopefully External Fuel tanks too (again removable). So I can switch between A1 to A3 versions depending on dio and photos I am doing.

Lastly to make a ACAV gunner turret to add when I want it lol

Another Update on the Interior.

Drivers seat and control panel in. Just need add dials.

Command/Gunner/Runner seats and box in.

Classified Duke demonstrating Drivers seat and Runners Seat.

Floor fully fitted with Anti Slip plate.

The Engine walls are now replaced with Plasticard.

I think due to thickness I Will be keeping the side external walls Cardboard. Easy add a think Plastic sheet If I don't like the look later.

So I think almost done with Interior basic work. So now onto the exterior front and roof.
Make the hatcges.

Then the rear with working Ramp.

This is a cool project. I remember freezing my butt off in a M113 in West Germany during the mid 80’s. Always had a soft spot in my heart for the old APC after that.

Excellent work so far!

The Joes really needed more in the way of IFVs and APCs. I know they had a few APCs, but something like a heavily armed M113, with space for a whole squad in the back would have been perfect.
