Dude! I thought your Scarlett was really kick ass and take the price in the recent contest!
I’m taking your recipe and I’ll try to make my own since I don’t have a good Scarlett in my collection. It’s just been the Retaliation one as a placeholder...

This is such an inventive build for Scarlet, I absolutely love it! I’ve been searching for the perfect Scarlet and Cover Girl builds for a while now and I think you’ve crack the code for Scarlet! Love the in progress shots, really helps see just how much work went into her because like you said, it’s hard to get her done with just parts from one line. I was trying to figure out exactly how you put her together so those shots helped a lot.
The extra sculpting you did for the hair looks really great. Big fan of this one and hope to end up with a Scarlet on my shelf half as good as this at some point. As always, great job!

Awesome write-up, ARBCO. Thanks for sharing details on how you did the creative touches like the hair and the throwing stars.
One interesting side effect of using a hex-bit driver head for the shape of the throwing stars is that the six-point nature of it in silver against a tan/khaki background reminds of a sheriff's badge pinned atop natural leather, adding a slight Western feel to her character, which thematically implies an air of toughness and fortitude. Dunno if that was intentional but it's really cool. Quote:

Fantastic! I would love to see your take on her! From what I’ve seen of your work, I’m sure it would be killer! It might be simpler to modify a Zombie Labs upper T-shirt than the crazy thing I did, though. Hopefully BFS will release one of those soon so it isn’t so expensive. |

Now something a little more fun and unexpected was this impromptu technique for making throwing stars. I made a small box, poured hot glue in it, then rammed a star-head screwdriver bit into it. Once it cooled, I cut off the end so it was open on both sides and pushed green stuff through. After that set, I chopped it up and chose the best shapes:
I realize that MTF makes throwing stars, and bought them for this purpose, but I thought they were a bit big and easy to knock off the arm.

Wow, just wow. Never been a fan of Scarlett outside the live action actress, but really really like your take and touches on this.
Always a big fan of customizers showing how they do certain things, so well done there. Amazing work!

Sometimes I think I can accomplish things I probably shouldn't think I can accomplish...
So far, trying to create an articulated version of this Cobra Commander has kicked my butt. Some day I still hope to finish him, just not sure how yet. And other times projects just fall together nicely... |
