Ah, I see. I don't currently have those designed, but I do plan to make adapters for using MTF and Joe legs on BFS bodies. I suspect there will be some crossover with MU figures as well, but much like their head sockets the MU hip sockets are all over the map. Which MU figures' legs come to mind first? I can test and see if they fit my printed MTF hip pegs or Joe hip pegs if I have them.

I just tested and Shana's leg fits the MTF adapter very nicely in its old size (the size my test prints were made in), but the current build is a hair larger. It'll probably still work on the new version but I'll need to test it to be sure. I'll dig around and try to find Vulture. In the meantime, try that Vulture leg of yours on a MTF hip ball. If it works on that, it will most likely work on the adapter.

I finally placed an order today, including the "untested" 5-packs of the male and female waist adapters. I'll be able to confirm fit with my other MTF legs soon, for those of you who have been waiting.
In the meantime, if anyone has their waist or neck adapters in-hand and can offer any feedback or photos please feel free to post. I've been focused on my 1:18 diorama pieces lately, but neck barbells for larger head sockets are on my list of things "coming soon" as are BFS legs onto MTF hips adapters. Let me know if you have any other adapter needs.

The difference between that post and this discussion is that the person took an existing MTF product, sculpted over it, and then talked about selling it on the Marauder's site - the main thing being advertising that he planning to sell it.
You can't advertise anything for sale on Marauder's site. Many custom cast sites have been mentioned. Rueben, himself, has mentioned Daremo's Dojo and Bad mother Tattoos and Customs decals, but nothing specifically advertised. I think with the amount of time that BFS and MTF figures have been available, if either group were planning some sort of "cross-over" attachments, like the neck dumb bell and/or pelvis/torso attachment that they would have already done it. As far as legality goes, that's a different subject. I'm not an attorney (but have stayed in a Holiday Inn), but having done a couple of patent searches in the past; if they don't offer either of these products, I really don't think there is a legal issue at all. Stuff is looking real good
2 thoughts - I wonder if making the balls faceted would make posing better 2nd is how did you get the size of the balls right in your model? What program are you using?

Here's something that may be fairly simple to do. Clip-on spacers to allow the use of MTF upper arms with Joe torsos.

I used a dial caliper to measure the ball sizes of the mass-production parts (MTF, Joe, and BFS) and used that as a jumping-off point. Print tolerances, the effects of material deformation upon installation, and stuff like that were all concerns of mine as I started and that meant that a lot of samples in incremental sizes needed to be ordered to find one that fits and stays tight. So, basically, it was an educated guess translated into an array of probable sizes from which a winner was chosen after actual trial fittings...only to find out that I had based my MTF trials on two outliers, hence the need for correction on the MTF hip balls. Whoops! I create all of my models using Blender 3d. It's not a CAD program and it's not intended or optimized for designing for 3d printing, but it was what I was somewhat familiar with after having tinkered with some 3d animation once upon a time, so I just went with it. It works well enough for me so I haven't really shopped around for anything else. I'd have to measure the difference between the two peg depths to see if that would be printable in the cheapest/lowest-resolution material, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion! Off the top of my head I would think a solid c-clip "rod" would be simplest and most versatile. Just use a razor knife and cut whatever length you need to fill the gap for the particular figure torso and arm combination you are dealing with. Or would pre-sized clips be preferable?

While I am in here, I'll mention that Shapeways has decided to overhaul their pricing structure, and not in a favorable direction. They didn't bother to warn me and it changed sometime since Sunday I guess. I happened to see some UI changes when I logged in to upload some test models this evening and then I went to the Shapeways forum and by chance found out what had happened to pricing as well. The (fairly awful) UI change was not announced at all, but apparently the pricing change was announced back in August. The thing is, it was only announced in a forum post and not via email to designers - or at least I never received any such email. That displeases me.
I'm not sure how much longer I will bother selling items on Shapeways under their new pricing. I had sticker shock on some items I have in my model list that I don't have up for sale yet and now probably won't bother putting up for sale at all. Those items are on the larger side anyway, so maybe smaller items won't be hit as hard. I just don't know yet. I'm not at all sure how big a difference there will be for my existing offerings. I will have to do some testing to find out. And if you haven't guessed, that's exactly how I wanted to spend my time! According to Shapeways' forum posts, items that were already up for sale and publicly viewable in my shop as of 10/22/2018 won't get jacked up until January of 2019 because they opted to keep old prices in place for those items for the Christmas shopping season. However, any item that was privately listed and any new items I create are all subject to the new pricing model already. It remains to be seen how impactful that pricing change will be on my current catalog of items, but if there is anything you guys have been considering buying you might want to step up your timetable. By January it's a safe bet it will all be more expensive, and if the pricing goes all to hell I'll probably just close up my shop and leave Shapeways to their fate. Hopefully it won't come to that, though.

Zap, thanks for the heads up, that sucks if shapeaway changes is going to stop your efforts. Its been awesome to follow, and I planned on making a big order this fall to check out the cool stuff you do.
These adapters are amazing, but your diorama thread has been epic.
