Oktober gaurd helo. Making another tomahawk inspired by this thing. Any ideas on how to make the rocket pods? I thought of cutting the fat markers or a highlighter and then sticking coffee straws in it.

Rocket pod thoughts: I'd pick up some small pvc pipe, like 1/2in, maybe the stuff used for electrical conduit. Glue caps on the ends. Drill for rockets and line the holes with straws. A little sanded taper on the back.
Looking forward to seeing what and how you build it. |

Here's what I have so far, again, just a tomahawk; not trying to kit bash a replica of the real mil chopper (although if someone did that, it would be epic).
Rocket pods turned out pretty good for something made of highlighters and coffee straws. I was going for something like this:

You nailed it as expected. Great WIP write-up. Gonna have to make a pair for my Dragonfly.

Looks good. I have a couple spare Tomahawk bodies laying around, some time int the distant future I would like to make the helicopter in the picture. Yous would be there if you closed in the rear cabin and cut off the rear rotor and gave it a long tail.

May have to scoot the main rotor back a little too.

I do not think that a 3D printer would help for that conversion (well maybe) but it wouldnt be super hard.
Would have to cut the front motor off and scoot it back and re-attach it. Then cut the rear motor off and then fill and smooth it but a lot of that area is going to be covered by the front motor once it gets scooted back. Then find something that is the right shape to use as the tail, maybe a tail off of a different helicopter or maybe something random. Add a side rotor. Make walls for the troop area out of styrene and hinge one or both of them so you can get in to position figures.
