Filling and sanding done, whew! Primed with self etching primer, a must for fiberglass IMO. Painted panel lines, not my best work. Too much coffee? Too many beers? Must be liquor, because I don't recall. Aluminum bits, I wish I would have used Modelmaster instead of Tamiya. Fins! Lots of fins! Another poor paint choice. |

What kit is this? Looks great so far. When I did models I used to do panel lines then go over with another real light base coat. That way the lines aren't so bold as all you really want is a shadow of those lines. Can't wait to see it done.

The Russians captured the Focke-Wulf plans for the TA-183 at the end of the war, many believe it was a strong influence on the MIG-15. Kurt Tank the inventor fled to Argentina at the end of the war and built a very similar plane for the Argentinians.
Look at this comparison between the 1/18 Huckebein and the Mig-15 and draw your own conclusions... Nice work, by the way! Interesting little plane. |

Excellent work!!!
I used to build a lot of models but the eye sight isn't what it used to be and I never was good at aircraft; darn wings always warped or wouldn't look right. I especially love German WW2 stuff. |

My belly belly. I'm all about the base. Camo, I tried a new technique for the edges. Not sure I like it, especially along the rear of the fuselage. Thoughts? Defense of Reich band and some insignias. It's been a while since I used stencils I forgot a light hand is better than a heavy one. Rudolph the red nosed Nutzi. The kit's maker is fabricating a new, smaller more accurate canopy. |

Decals on, not a ton of them. I wish I would have used the included stencils with white paint to help them stand out, but hindsight is 20/20 and I thought I could skip the extra work... Working on the X-4 Ruhrstahl missiles. Still need some touch-ups. Last edited by YT74; 01-07-2015 at 08:22 PM.. |

Missiles done, the duality of air to air missiles with plywood fins speaks volumes of Germany at the time. Mounting to the pylons, I filled over the alignment holes like a mOron. Added some pins for the wing attachment. Dum dum puttied over more alignment holes, so I provised a jig. Not too shabby. |
