I looked all over the web when I thought about doing this, and couldn't find anything(I probably wasn't looking hard enough, idk),either way I decided to make a thread using key words to help someone else if they ever are curious to see how'd it'd look as a display..so..
The sling used is zip line that came from one of the retaliation figures spring loaded toys,as well as the repelling lines. The fast rope figures have each been equipped with repelling harnesses from donor figures.. figures Ive found that possess these harnesses are: 25th Sgt. Airborne, painted brown w/blue pouch, and metallic buckle ,very stiff plastic limits hip articulation! ROC TRU 5 pack Duke, purplish grey in color w/metallic buckle, way more flexible, funky color tho ROC Rollbar, light grey in color, very flexible like its not even there, doesn't impede articulation at all, unpainted buckle..I used flat aluminum, and it matches the other versions AOCI Hit&Run,black in color w/metallic painted buckle, also very flexible just like rollbar's only black. obviously some webgears don't mesh well with the harnesses either. the shorty versions like outback's,beachhead/double clutch, nightfox v2,and 3 pack beachhead/ninja battle 3 pack snake eyes(pictured worn by Steeler ) work, and look best for not interfering with waste articulation,at least on the figures Im fiddling with. any suggestions, other figures that have hook ups to cables,whatever...those who know, let me know. I am no expert, and have limited experience with these figures, or what's all out there.so,there maybe more or a better way? Idk. Thanks for looking guys Last edited by BlazerZR5; 08-12-2013 at 04:56 PM.. |

Awesome pics man!!! It's good to see there is a purpose for all of those red ninja zip lines!!!
If your interested, you can add length to the winch rope if you take it apart. I think there are pics of the inner mechanism in this thread. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...sassembly.html

I have a third eaglehawk, the third one is ment to carry the vamp, the one holding it is actually for more zip line guys, lol. It's still a work in progress.. ^thank you! yes,I thoroughly enjoyed myself
unfortunately the figure I like is becoming difficult to aquire, and their price online has gotten out of the range I'm willing to pay,so I'm pretty much on hold:( Im debating commissioning a member/customizer to paint my eaglehawks black, and replacing the figures I'm currently using with POC shock troopers.when I started army building the green shocky was actually less expensive then a blue shocky? seems Ive inadvertently inflated their price? Idk,lol. also I don't have a joe collection to dig into for parts&equipment. So,I'm short heads, gear, and whatnot to finish my kitbash army.with the exception of a handful of leftover fodder figures, and a couple unmodded green shockys that is my entire joe collection. thankfully the forum has been good to me,and I was able to trade some of my fodder figures for heads&gear from other figures.also a majority of their webgear came from my sons figures. Ive got plans for the white shockys(cobra combat ninjas) when they become available in my area,as well as look foward to paying MSRP for a figure I can get into army building |

Pretty fair representation of the FRIES (fast rope insertion extraction system) and sling load in action.
Though I think the hook is a little far aft on the Toma/Eaglehawk. Would really screw with the center of gravity IRL. |
