Fifth Project - Polaris Sportsman 700
Aquired in the week of 6/16 - $25.00 Goal - Turn it into a Cobra Ferret for my soon to be 6 year old son. Future Mods - Upgrading it from 12v to 18v. Adding lights. First step: Taking it apart and giving it a paint job. All the parts were filled with old beehives and spiders! Thanks to some help from another member at Modified Power Wheels, I was able to find the tabs to take of the steering colum. If anyone ever has a problem with this, don't hesitate to ask me, it saves a lot of time to know where the tabs are! So with the colum off, I was able to get the body off. So with everything off, it was time to start sanding and painting. The Cobra Ferret is an ATV that the Crimson Twins used in earlier episodes of G.I.Joe, then was used frequently by the Dreadnoks later in the series. Here's the basic scheme of the vehicle: As with the Tiger Force F-150 I did, I will come close to the original layout. I always try to keep my creativity open though, so it won't be a replica. Here's the body's main color: The cargo holders and some accessories will be the color of steering colum in this picture, it's candy apple red. Also, in the picture it shows the fake motor covers, those I painted black and then metallic aluminum over that. The seat and the floor guards are painted with the Rubberized Truck Bed Liner paint: Next I painted the hubcaps. I only have a picture of them primered here, but I painted them the same color blue as the body: Here's a picture of it with one of the cargo holders on it and a decal that Batman2036 (from MPW.com) printed up for me. I personally think it looks dope! Update night of the 25th: Got the rims done (oh yeah, the rubberized seat is in the back): Painted the frame, it's all starting to come together: Will be building some guns tomorrow! UPDATE 6/28/13 Still need to finish wiring, add lights, make guns, and reassemble.

AWESOME! You should rig the side cannon to launch newspapers. (And make sure it's not mis-used to launch kittens)

My own worth as a parent seems diminished because I don't have the skills/knowhow to do this. That said, AMAZING stuff here.
