Hey, this is my first attempt at doing a WIP as I build. This is going to be the first large scale diorama I've built in a long time. I want to put as much detail as possible into it. Any feedback or questions will be welcome. Thanks for looking!

Nice setup. Are you going to cover the cardboard with some spackle or something?!

Thanks everybody. Im going to use drywall joint compound for the walls. And beach sand for the roads. And I'm going to add a few led's here and there as well.

The outbuildings are all inspired by pictures of Afghanistan I found on Google.

WTG!!! Much better then I did... My only critique would be walk your own road. Your doing a great job. I want to see where you go with it. You have a really FRESH outlook on an OLD idea!!! Pure awesomeness!!! Roll with it bro... Lolz, you made me pissed at myself for not putting this much thought into mine.

You should get a bag of light weight joint compound from Home Depot or lowes and coat the surface of the buildings. It gives it a stucco like exterior or you can sculpt a brick pattern in it before it dries. Then you can paint or stain it any color. The best part is a bag goes a long way and it is relatively cheap.
