I had considered doing this, but after I had already sculpted over the seams of the legs. So, now I can't get the legs off to sand them down. I decided to just deal with reduced range of motion of the upper legs. They can still bend, but just not nearly as far as before. I doubt I will want to pose Serpentor on one knee or kicking someone anyway (that's what I tell myself to justify the lack of range of motion, lol).

Thanks again, for the comments!
I need to update my pics as the only thing I have left to do with the upper torso is the cape and snakes and I have a good bit of the legs done. Which brings me to my current dilemma... In sculpting scales on the upper legs I'm going to have to lose quite a bit of articulation when it comes to moving the leg forward. Instead of being able to bring it up the full 90°, I can only bring it forward about 45°. While I'd really like to maintain the full range of motion, I don't think I can without leaving the area scale free, which I really don't want to do. So, I'm not sure how I'm going to get the scales on without this occurring as I can't sculpt them any thinner and keep the look of a scale... |

Thanks, guys!
Raginspoon - Dude, I wish I could've sculpted this with the torso pieces split, so that a cast could be made of it. Last edited by Cloud Strife; 12-29-2011 at 11:27 PM.. |
