I have some Rolling Thunder and as I am a fan of the Snar 10 vehicle I had the idea to modify a Rolling Thunder as a command vehicle.
I am gone replaced the turret by a radar and a big antenna, the main problem is the height inside to allow a figure to stand up. I had cut off the floor and made a new one. Thinkit would be cool to see an Rolling Thunder like a troop carrier all enclosed like the APC (wihtout the gun points on the sides and huge missiles inside it). I look forward to seeing the results of this!

Damn! I can't wait till you're done. I especially like the opening you cut for figures to go between the front and the rear.

That looks cool. I always wanted a Rolling Thunder that could hold smaller vehicles like the Vamp or Awe Striker. That would be able to drive into the middle from the back via a ramp.
This is going to be a great vehicle you are making.

I agree maybe with the back as a ramp that drops down

Keeping work on it, today I have paint the interior in bright white and also put the deck cover.
Here is the front compartment: The rear of the command compartment, where you gone have the radar screen: The front of the command compartment with the UAV / Satelite Imaging screen and to come on the side: the transmission post. Here are fews of the items I have to put inside: One of the radios (note the hole on the left corner for the screen with the led behind); an other radio; the extinguishers and the NBC system. Now I have to work on the light system for the screens and the inside. |

nice work
The prototype Rolling Thunder cannon section swung backward rather than sliding back ... Maybe you could add that to your HQ version.

I'm liking where this is going, I've got an RT and was feeling the same way.
But thought of going desert motif. I'm gonna keep my eye on this. . . . |
